I work with clients who often feel stuck and unfilled in their personal lives and intimate relationships. I support people who feel like something is missing - a situation or experience that would provide excitement, relief, comfort, or joy. I also see people who feel overwhelmed and burdened by responsibilities. Feeling fatigued and unsatisfied can be hard, especially when we feel alone. I believe healing occurs when we are joined in our experience. I provide clients with a safe, supportive environment where they can share how they feel.

I’m here for you and your experience! I welcome your whole self, including the parts that hurt most, have been marginalized by dominant society, and are navigating change. You may be experiencing grief and loss around the death of a loved one, a memory loss diagnosis, the redefining of a role, grief over the climate, or a harm done to a family member. You may find yourself transitioning into caregiving, stepping away from work, or parenting - including grandparents who are returning to raise children. All of this may be resulting in exacerbated stress, depression, anxiety. I'm looking forward to supporting you.

I feel great admiration for people who are willing to show up for themselves and take on the work that leads to growth. I offer you a space to connect, to be heard and learn more about yourself. Clients describe me as down-to-earth, easygoing, and genuine. I work well for those who value a calm presence, an open mind and a sense of humor. I'm a good fit for individuals who are neurodivergent and balancing authenticity with navigating neurotypical norms, people struggling with self-image, positive masculinity, anxiety, depression, trauma and those who are "sober curious" or in recovery maintenance.

Accepting new clients! I understand how hard it is to be a human and how our histories, relationships, and structural oppression impact our health and wellness. I am a firm believer that we grow throughout the lifespan and that it is never too late for change and recovery. I am particularly interested in working with folks struggling with identity (LGBTQIA+, white guilt, and major life changes which impact how we think about ourselves), depression and anxiety, trauma, and people who are embarking on the parenting journey.

I support clients navigating religious trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and those seeking neurodiversity-affirming support. Those who have experienced pain, disappointment, and distress from experiences in faith communities are especially drawn to my work. It is also important to acknowledge how isolating it can be to pause, deconstruct, or reconsider long-held beliefs or spiritual practices that once held a lot of hope and meaning. Or, to simply explore how embracing your full humanity and identity can be celebrated after experiences of being shamed for those aspects of you.

Hi! I'm Riley, and I strive to elevate my client’s personal power by supporting them in taking an active role in their treatment, helping them connect with their knowledge of self, and supporting their decisions surrounding their mental health. Much of my experience is from working with adults who hold a wide array of different backgrounds and identities. However, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent populations and enjoy helping people navigate transitions and explore identity.

Hi! I’m glad you’re here. My name is Olivia, although most people call me Liv. While my title is a therapist, I see my role as a co-collaborator, and it’s an honor. In my work I strive to provide support and problem solve in a trauma-informed and strengths-based way. Central to my approach is a focus on self-empowerment, autonomy, and self-direction. What that means is, I believe that we are all experts in our own lives and the therapeutic process should collaboratively strengthen and bring to the surface the skills and inner strength to harness our innate wisdom and strength.

I believe that anyone can benefit from counseling and that no matter where a person starts, they deserve respect and care. I am here to help people live better lives and uncover patterns in thoughts and behaviors that might be causing distress. For this process to be most helpful, it is important to find someone who fits well with who you already are. My goal is to help facilitate positive, lasting change and I believe that there is a counselor out there who can help make that happen.

I trust that whatever appears in the mind, body, and emotions has its purpose and wants to be deeply heard, honored, understood, and embraced; that all the Psyche expresses are attempts toward our wholeness and realizing the jewel of our Essential Being. With this compassion and care, healing can unfold, patterns and beliefs transformed, and we can live our true potential and purpose, innate wisdom, and experience happiness, peace, and joy.

We all have our own story, the things that make us unique in the tapestry of human experiences. What motivates me in counseling people is how we cope with trauma, overcome adversity, and our resilience in the face of difficult circumstances. Finding a way to create meaning, and live a full authentic life is central to my goals in supporting clients. I focus on existential and feminist frameworks to support clients in developing their sense of worth and purpose in life. Working with me we will address attachment and relational dynamics, boundaries and the patterns present in your life that may be keeping you “stuck.”

I work with neurodivergent individuals and families. I work with those seeking clarity and a way forward. I am currently accepting new clients for psychological evaluation (including for autism, ADHD, giftedness, learning disabilities, and more) and Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE). I offer a compassionate and integrated approach. My psychological evaluations result in a comprehensive psychological report, and I aim to "tell the story" of an individual rather than simply assign a label. All evaluations yield individualized recommendations, and I provide client-centered, in-depth feedback sessions aimed at empowerment.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
