Our significant relationships and life history have shaped our individual beliefs and behaviors. Often times those beliefs and behaviors prove to be limiting and may keep us stuck. At times, we find ourselves anxious or depressed, stressed in our relationships and out of balance. By increasing awareness and healthy living skills, counseling offers an opportunity to change your circumstances and/or your response to them.

As a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, I have 10 years of experience in working with both children and adults who have Sensory Processing Disorder and a variety of diagnosis such as ADHD, ASD, anxiety and more.
Understanding a child’s unique needs can be an overwhelming journey for any committed, loving parent. Frustration, exhaustion, and helplessness are all real feelings endured when not enough tools are available in a parents toolkit. This is especially true when you are a parent of a Neurodivergent child (SPD, ADHD, ASD) as it takes a unique understanding and set of strategies to meet your child’s needs. Whether you're struggling with your child's emotional/self-regulation skills, transitions, routines, or success at school and with peers, I am here to help with these challenges and more.

You will learn how to make space for sadness, anxiety, and fear.
Are you experiencing sadness or depression after the birth of your baby? Do you ever find yourself feeling guilty because you think you should be a better mom? Are you unable to concentrate because you are worried something bad is going to happen to your baby or you can't stop thinking about their birth? You are not alone. Feeling sad or anxious after becoming a new parent is scary. And it's hard to ask for help when family and friends keep telling you how happy you should be and that you will just know how to be a mom. You need emotional support from someone who is ready to listen with compassion and without judgement.

Issues I can help you navigate include: processing the loss of a loved one, adjustment to a new diagnosis, fear of cancer recurrence or progression, anxiety about medical procedures, contemplating existential concerns, and caregiver burnout.
No matter how much we try to be happy, sometimes life hits us with curveballs and we get knocked down. While it's a natural reaction to want to distract ourselves from this pain, often that only makes it worse. I'm here to offer a different path. Together we can process difficult emotions, befriend uncertainty, and find meaning amid life's greatest challenges. My approach is eclectic with an emphasis on psychodynamic techniques. I've also been a Buddhist practitioner for nearly a decade, and occasionally integrate meditation and Eastern philosophy into my work as appropriate.

In my opinion, we all need a little therapy now and again! Just like our bodies need regular care and upkeep, and some extra support from a medical professional sometimes, our minds and internal selves need regular attention and support, as well. Therapy has a place for the proactive mental health seekers and those who have pain and vulnerabilities. I enjoy working with people who need support with depression, anxiety, stressful life circumstances and relationship issues, severe mental illness, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and chronic pain. These are all areas where I've been able to help clients move forward in their lives.
