Most of our struggles are relational in nature. As a relationship expert, I will guide you toward healing your relational wounds; to step into the self-actualized, meaningful, joyful life you dream of. We all sustain traumas which shape our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. When we understand our protective strategies we can then update our narratives, unburden our traumatized parts, heal attachment wounds, and make room to relate through our highest self. We can learn new skills in communication, somatic regulation, mindfulness, self-awareness, and more fully build the life which best serves our continual growth.

I use a holistic approach to therapy drawing on Family Systems theory, Existential, Attachment theory and Psychodynamic therapy lenses.
Accepting couples, families and individuals using OHP insurance. Do you want to make a change? Coping skills often developed early on in life and were important to help get you to where you are today. They can arise from a childhood that seems "normal" or one filled with trauma and struggle. Coming to therapy is a step in healing the wounds from the past and working with the struggles of today. I can help you process your lived experience at your pace to help you move forward and make positive changes in your life. I am currently prioritizing couples and families who want to do therapy together.,

I use an eclectic style that is primarily informed by Core Energetics, existential inquiry, and contemplative practices, but call on various systems to work with what arises.
I enjoy working with the full spectrum of development, from personal and relational issues to transpersonal and spiritual growth issues. As relational beings, the power to heal and grow is unlocked through the therapeutic relationship, so this is at the center of the work. Using the relationship and our present moment awareness, we can explore self-limitations, alienation in relationships, lack of fulfillment, and the understandable anxiety and depression that arises from those challenges.

I work with individual adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, uncertainty and interpersonal struggles. Some clients I work with seek a respectful, supportive helper outside their everyday life, sometimes during a life transition or existential choice point. Other clients I work with seek focused assistance with moving forward in a healthy way after a traumatic event (or traumatic childhood).

I treat clients with a range of issues, from existential issues and coping with the demands of life, to mood disorders and anxiety, complex trauma and PTSD, spirituality concerns and religious trauma, and men's and LGBTQi issues. I employ an eclectic approach based on existential counseling theory, which seeks to help clients explore how the human condition impacts daily life; cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which seeks to help clients explore how thoughts impact feelings and actions; and family systems theory, which helps couples and families explore and improve relationships.
All people seek happiness and wish to avoid suffering and that all people have the right to pursue joy and freedom from pain. I believe that all people are capable of bringing constructive change into their lives, whatever their present circumstances. I view my job as providing a welcoming, supportive, safe, socially just, and competent space in which positive change can occur.

I'm an existential humanist.
Sometimes modern life makes you feel insignificant, isolated, or empty. Maybe you’ve lost your sense of purpose, and feel dissatisfied or unfulfilled. The future is scary, and the past is shameful. It’s hard to let go of anger, and you have a short fuse. Your relationships are lacking or need healing. You're trying to quit, but keep relapsing. You’re being weighed down by shame, held back by procrastination, or numbed by grief. It's hard to meet people, and dating is even harder. Maybe you're just miserable and don't know why. Life is hard, but you only get one. You deserve to live it as your whole, authentic self.

I am honored to walk alongside you on this part of your journey. Seeking help takes courage and I commend each and every client for taking this first step. Those struggling with a harsh inner critic, attachment issues, and existential anxiety would work well with me. I am also interested in how the past is affecting the present. Through various body-centered offerings, I will often bring the experience of therapy into the here and now. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and invite ongoing feedback into the therapy room.

Taking New Clients: Everyone has the essential ingredients for positive change. Individuals and couples who seek my support are in a difficult moment or intersection in life; seeking resolution between internal and external pressures; seeking satisfaction and harmony in relationships, identity, career, society, etc. I support clients who seek to deepen and broaden their perspective on who they are and who they want to become by examining self-limiting narratives, refining self-mastery, and cultivating self-compassion. BIPOC and multicultural clients often seek my support as well as those who want more from therapy than just insight.

Hello! I'm currently accepting former clients and a small number of new clients as my practice is small. I work best with folx who are contending w/ depression, anxiety, and feelings of social or familial isolation. I'm comfortable with helping those who struggle with suicidal thoughts and self-harming. I've had successes in assisting families with increasing effective communication, individual self-harm reduction, and helping people to become more self-accepting. I am at ease with working with persons who have met grief of any kind, those who have experienced trauma, and anyone who just can't find their peace.

You've been in therapy before and your life has really improved, but something still lingers... that thing that you're worried will "never change." Perhaps you've struggled to feel served or represented by the majority of the current therapy industry because of your personal or political values. You're self-motivated and know how to engage in the work, and now you've delved into spiritual growth with curiosity and are looking to integrate that into therapy. You're not interested in identifying with a diagnosis, labels, or symptoms... you're on a quest to resolve a problem with the way you think and feel, so you can be WHOLE.

Are you looking to increase connection, joy, positive moods, and strengthen healthy relationship with yourself and others? I specialize in a Mindfulness and Somatic/body based modality called Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS allows us to gently and safely reprocess old wounds, work on what is most important right now in your life, and help you return to your core natural state of connection, purpose and authenticity. It is deeper than traditional 'talk therapy', as it can get to the root of trauma and attachment wounding, often based in childhood difficulties that result in patterns of anxiety, depression, grief, and dissociation.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
