More than any theory, the counseling relationship should always come first.
When there is a feeling of disconnect between yourself and the world or with those in your life, it can be lonely and confusing. We alI feel stuck in our life at times around repeating old patterns, managing painful emotions or having critical thoughts of self and others. Maybe you are experiencing depression, life transitions or anxious thoughts. I aim to help clients explore what is causing them distress and identify new ways to overcome those obstacles. If you find yourself engaging in similar patterns and struggling to find effective ways to cope with anxiety or daily stressors, therapy may be a courageous first step to relief.

I work non judgmentally with clients to examine/strengthen relationships.I work with individuals, couples and families to repair and rebuild relationships that are not functioning at their best. With the client, the current concern is examined then goals and steps toward change are developed.I feel a persons self esteem is often a key component to current concerns and difficulties being experienced, as such this is examined.I believe the child parent relationship is key to a child's development and self esteem. I work with the parent to create the strongest connection possible with their child.

If you are in a relationship with someone with these tendency, or you at least wonder if, it's important you seek help from someone who understands the subtleties of these behaviors.
Are you confused? Exhausted? Scared? I can help. I have a unique understanding of unhealthy relationships and how they operate and impact the lives of those in it. Most relationships start out hopeful and happy. Many turn at some point and this is where confusion lives. I work with individuals who have had difficult relationships. Healing takes a lot of work, and a lot of commitment, I won't sugar-coat...but it can be done. Or, perhaps you have issues with non-intimate relationships, maybe a parent, sibling, or child. Or maybe your child has conflicts with your ex. This too can be made healthier.

I offer services for individuals, couples, and families with adult family members (no youth services provided). I love working with folks asking big questions- it may be about past experiences, spirituality, gender, etc- and getting into the gritty details of learning new skills and building sustainable habits to support our overall health.

I am passionate about empowering clients to gain self confidence, a stronger sense of identity and the ability to build healthy relationships. I believe how we move through the world is directly connected to our most basic understanding of our selves, and the relationships and role models we have grown up with. I also believe our culture plays a significant role shaping our identity and the relationship with the context we live in. Beginning with this understanding, I utilize aspects of different therapeutic approaches to help clients create meaningful and positive changes to live a fuller life.

I provide therapy for men and women around life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, guilt and shame, recovering from physical or sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD, identity and self image, spiritual development and spiritual abuse. I personally and professionally understand the dynamics that accompany many of these life challenges. Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
