My approach is grounded in the belief that each client is the resident expert on themselves and their experience. I offer talk therapy services to adults (25+) from all cultures, genders, religions, sexual, and economic backgrounds. I am an independent practitioner at the Firefly Institute in Hillsboro, Oregon. Clients experiencing emotional distress due to life transitions, past trauma, codependency and those in helping positions (medical, teaching, mental health, etc) with compassion fatigue/vicarious trauma are who I most often work with.

I work with clients across the lifespan and provide parent consultations when working with children/adolescents. I provide support for anxiety, behavioral challenges, depression, family conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, peer relationships, school issues, and trauma. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for any work we will do together. When you feel safe within the therapeutic relationship, that is when real healing or progress can occur. I work with individuals and family systems from a relational-cultural perspective and with a trauma-informed lens.

I work with a diverse client base, ranging from children to adult, using evidence-based therapies in person or via telehealth. I specifically am focused on clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or familial/romantic relationship themes. I have spent time working internationally with the most vulnerable of populations and am excellent at drawing out those not familiar with the talk therapy model. I am happy to use a clients existing coping strategies such as spiritual beliefs and practices or help create new ones.

I have been helping people with anxiety, addictions, ADHD, and eating disorders since 2015, and can provide you with virtual counseling via video or phone if you are anywhere in Oregon or Washington! My approach is cognitive-behavioral, meaning that I am listening for negative thoughts (cognitive) that we can challenge and reframe more positively, as well as things that you can do (behavioral) to feel less anxious and more hopeful, and to take good care of yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically.
