I believe in a judgment free collaborative approach, and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I use a goals based approach, which means we will hone in on what results you would like to see from therapy, identify the challenges that keep you from your goals and work together to develop solutions. Being solutions focused also requires confronting old patterns of thoughts or behaviors that no longer serve you. A big part of my work with clients is helping them identify Negative Core Beliefs they have about themselves that prevent them from moving forward in life, and replacing these with Positive Core Beliefs.

I have particular expertise in serving children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I am also interested in serving parents who are struggling with emotional difficulties that occur in the context of parenting. I also see adults experiencing difficulty with depression and anxiety. Prior to opening my practice, I had a 25-year research career studying depression, family processes, and developing cognitive-behavioral, and family interventions for depression and parenting difficulties. I have opened a practice to apply my skills and expertise in a clinical setting.

I view my approach to therapy as client-centered, strengths-based, intersectional feminist, neurodivergent-affirming, and fat liberationist.
