Trauma, loss, life transitions, difficult relationships, and the stress of living within toxic systems can cause emotional pain that is hard to manage alone.
I believe that you have an inner wisdom that knows what you need to heal and feel whole. I'm glad you are listening to it and seeking support, which we all need. Here are a few things to know about me: Respect, curiosity, compassion, and depth are primary values in my work. My role in the therapy process is collaborator, an active participant by your side, holding space for emotions, listening for themes and patterns, asking questions to encourage self-exploration, and (with curiosity, respect, and perhaps some humor) challenging unhelpful or "stuck" patterns.

Trauma looks different for different folks, but its impact is deeply wounding - perhaps a loss of safety, self-worth, and physical connection with the body.
I believe interpersonal connection is the foundation of mental health and wellness. In my practice, I strive to create a safe, empowering environment where your truths can be freely shared and deeply felt. If there's a well of sadness you've struggled to overcome, or if enduring trauma or anxiety keeps you from finding peace, you don't have to suffer alone. Despite superficial differences, I find people are mostly equal in their wish for contentment and fulfillment. Let us walk together on this journey to help you find yours.

People looking at you from the outside might think you have it all together. You have a lovely family, a great wife, and a good career. But on the inside, you're dying a slow death. If anyone really knew what was going on, they would see that you are completely faking it. Inside, you're disappointed, let down and, let's face it... pissed off. To cope, you watch too much T.V., watch a little porn, and play video games. Maybe you drink too much; perhaps you smoke a little pot. You do whatever it takes to cover that longing for something more. So you just keep faking it, pretending that everything is fine, until one day you implode.

Sometimes life can present us with enormous challenges. Other times it might be life’s cumulative little difficulties that slowly weigh us down over time. Perhaps you have been experiencing sadness or anxiety and are unsure of how to address such discomfort. Maybe you believe that you could benefit from embracing a new perspective. In therapy we can work on issues of depression, anxiety, grief, minority stress, and identity issues. I also specialize in religious abuse/trauma in gender and sexual minority populations, and am passionate about helping clients heal from their pasts and learn to live lives consistent with their values.

Accepting new Care Oregon clients! The recent loss of a close friend was a blunt reminder that tomorrow is not promised. A blunt reminder that being present and in the moment is all that we truly have. Many of us wrestle with events of the past or fear about tomorrow but, in the meantime, we often forget that we have the ability - choice - to grab hold of the moment we are in with everything we have and make it truly and wonderfully ours. We get a say in what that moment will be: happy, sad, angry, tormented, funny, quiet, loud. I specialize in midlife support for women: life transitions, mental health & menopause.
