It takes a lot of courage to admit you need help, but it's the first step. I am excited to work with a vast array of clients including those in the LGBTQ+/BDSM/Kink/Consensual Non-Monogamy community, veterans, and those with criminal and substance use histories. I work with adults and on a case-by-case basis adolescents aged 15 and up. If you are searching for internal stability and grounding I would love to help facilitate personal growth in a compassionate and safe environment. My goal is to assist you in moving towards self-acceptance and away from shame.

I specialize in working with women who are overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected, and who are longing to experience engagement, connection, and flow.
I am committed to empowering women by facilitating healing from trauma, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and perfectionism. For far too long, women's wisdom and brilliance has been suppressed, to the great harm of all. I believe that when women are free to express their truths, nurture themselves and their loved ones, and create lives of meaning, all in their orbit benefit and experience healing. I support women in owning their emotions, taking up space, claiming their desires, and evolving into their next level of success.

I believe that everyone can reach an optimum state of health. How one gets there depends on the individual and how I can best meet them where they are at. The process of self-growth and sense of contentment is a journey I believe is strengthened when the individual seeking support feels seen and heard. My goal is to establish a safe space for my clients to express and explore what they need to grow into the best version of themselves.

Seeking clarity and understanding about life's journey is at times easy and at other times challenging. Reaching out for support and having a desire to grow and expand emotionally is not always an easy path though it is full of depth and rewards. I have been working in social service for over 15 years, meeting clients in their unique place and assisting with them with process that brought them to therapy.

Any of us, from adults to very young children, can experience life challenges that require the caring support of other people. Sometimes we need help to navigate these challenges, and to heal, reorient, and move forward in our lives toward better health and wholeness. When the emotional support of friends and family is not enough, establishing a safe, collaborative relationship with a psychotherapist can be a valuable resource.

I am a veteran and have years of experience working with men and women in the military, care givers, and individuals in times of crisis.
Life is a journey without a clear roadmap. We hit bumps, wrong turns, and flat tires along the way. Worry, sadness, and confusion can be a natural response to these problems we encounter. Sometimes it is difficult to know which direction is the best or even if we want to continue the journey. I am here to help you find your way, to find acceptance, and feel strong enough to face the obstacles to your travel. If you are feeling, overwhelmed, steeped in sadness, uncertain, panicked or worried about almost everything or just one thing, I can help.

My father worked as a caseworker in New York and my mother is a registered nurse. Is it any wonder that I often attract caring clients seeking to balance stress (sometimes PTSD) as they strive to assist others. Many of my clients are caregivers- looking after family members, counselors, pastoral care workers, shamanic practitioners or healers. The rest tend to be people seeking tools to make sense out of their lives and their experiences. I provide a calm port in the storm of life. Care For The Caregiver is a place to receive support while learning to reach your goals.

Trauma comes in many shapes and forms. A deeply distressing and disturbing experience in your life can have many negative effects such as feeling numb or like you’re just “going through the motions,” deep depression and sadness, or feeling “broken.” But you are not alone in feeling this way. I understand the power of trauma and how it can destroy you, overtaking your mind and your body. It’s a wound that changes a person. Especially if you don’t let it out. It finds unhealthy ways. The trauma can overpower you and take control. But you can become "unbroken."

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
