I am a licensed psychologist who has worked with adults and teen for over 25 years. Prior to life in Montana and Oregon, I was at Stanford Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, where I was awarded a fellowship following my clinical internship at University of New Mexico Medical. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oregon. I have worked with clients in various clinical settings, given national and international talks, facilitated many group therapy sessions and workshops for families, parents, and couples. I have been in private practice since 2014. I love what I do.

Living in a world filled with poverty, marginalization, oppression, and pandemic(s) can feel daunting and lead people to feel as though they have little agency. Therapy can be a helpful place to explore the places in our lives where we do have agency, where we are able to make tangible changes-often times this is in our interpersonal relationships. I work from an attachment focused and relational cultural perspective that is grounded in feminist practice which prioritizes the exploration of identities, oppression, intersectionality, and their impact on social and emotional functioning.

I find that people reach out to treatment when excessive worry, low motivation, and negative thinking can lead to feeling less confident in their work, behind on tasks at home, and impacting their relationships. I don't treat ADHD and I don't prescribe controlled substances, such as Xanax for anxiety.

I believe that a trusting relationship with you is of the utmost importance. During our time together I will work to create an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance so you feel free sharing and exploring whatever is troubling you. My approach is a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and evidence-based integration of attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive therapy which emphasizes (1) trusting the client as an expert of their own reality, (2) exploring the patterns through which we come to understand ourselves, others, and the world, and (3) seeking meaningful emotional experiences in a safe therapeutic relationship.

I specialize in adults experiencing stress, anxiety, and challenging life changes (such as a job/career change, college stress, new parenting, recently divorced, and breakups). I am experienced in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and trauma including chronic trauma. I also love to help people struggling to deal with strong emotions such as anger or fear.

I see adolescents, teens, and adults who are experiencing overwhelm and stress, anxiety and depression, challenging life changes, and grief and loss. I am an experienced guide during important life transitions at home, work, or at school.

I am a Certified Social Work Associate, a social worker, and therapist for adults. I am deeply passionate about working with trauma. I work with any kind of trauma at any level of severity, collaborating with you to address PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other effects of trauma such as impact on the body, nightmares, hypervigilance, depression, and anxiety. As a social worker, it is important for me to look not just at the mind, but also relationships, community, and larger societal systems. to explore how systems of capitalism, white supremacy, ableism, transphobia and oppression impact our mental health.

Trauma comes in many shapes and forms. A deeply distressing and disturbing experience in your life can have many negative effects such as feeling numb or like you’re just “going through the motions,” deep depression and sadness, or feeling “broken.” But you are not alone in feeling this way. I understand the power of trauma and how it can destroy you, overtaking your mind and your body. It’s a wound that changes a person. Especially if you don’t let it out. It finds unhealthy ways. The trauma can overpower you and take control. But you can become "unbroken."

Supporting others on their healing journey is an absolute joy and privilege that I take seriously. Some of the more common issues I work with include depression/anxiety, self-esteem building, family/cultural dynamics, relationship issues, college/life transitions, and complex trauma.
