I seek long-term relationships with clients. The foundation of a client / therapist relationship, and all relationships, is trust. We take time to build rapport and establish sincere trust on the way toward forming a therapeutic alliance. It's often the case clients underlying issue is lack of trust in themselves and/or in their relationships, regardless of the "disorder", or lack there of. Whether living with a severe & persistent mental illness, or adjusting to a current challenge in life, my goal as a counselor is to provide a comfortable, reliable long-term therapeutic relationship that provides guidance, growth & healing.

I work with adults on wide ranging issues such as life transitions, losses, identity formation or role changes, interpersonal challenges, and trauma experiences. In addition to those listed, I also support individuals living with health conditions like pain, reduced functioning, complex chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes), or adjusting to a new diagnosis. I became licensed in 2015 and am truly fulfilled by the work I get to do with clients.

I enjoy supporting individuals, children and families. My style is warm and down to earth. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, Brief Solution Focused, and Play Therapy to assist you, or your child, in sharing your story, resolve conflicts and accomplishing peaceful change. It is my belief that problems are often developed and sustained through well-established habits of thinking and behavior. I provide a safe setting, and have a respectful approach, to addressing problems. I work in partnership with you utilizing your strengths and resources to create positive change!

I am currently accepting new clients (Updated July 2024). I understand it is difficult to seek help. Often, the idea of therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it is the first time. I strive to make the therapeutic process comfortable and accessible. I use a direct style of therapy and evidence-based approaches and help clients take an active approach to making change in their lives. I work to build upon the strengths you already have and help you continue to live a more valued life.

Do you struggle with close relationships? Maybe you enjoy success in your profession, but feel unappreciated and insecure in your personal relationships, constantly striving for approval and affection. When things go wrong, do you feel out of control, saying and doing things you later regret? Or maybe you feel invisible and isolated, but the process of letting someone get close feels too risky and painful. Maybe you grew up in a good home where no one ever hit you, but it was an emotional desert, where nothing you did was ever good enough, and your feelings were ignored or even punished. You are not alone.

Feeling stuck? Burned out or always overwhelmed? Not enjoying life the way everyone else seems to? Perhaps the coping strategies and/or relationships you've turned to for support in the past are no longer accessible or just not enough on their own. I am deeply passionate about what I do with children and their families. It's a privilege to sit in a room or play with another human being and have them share with you their suffering, their joy, their anger, their confusion, their sorrow, and their successes. I strongly believe that mental health is essential to a person’s well-being, a healthy family, interpersonal relationships, and the ability and possibility to live a full and productive life.

It takes courage to seek help...for yourself or for your child/teen. I recognize how influential parents are when it comes to the emotional lives of their kids. Therefore my approach often includes some work with you to help you understand your child/teen's behaviors and to identify the implicit emotional needs in what you may be seeing. Often these externalized behaviors require some attuned response from you which can assist your child to feel and function better, and make important adaptations to family/life situations.

As your therapist, my compassion and understanding allows me to connect with you on a deeper level. This therapeutic relationship, starting from our first meeting, allows you to feel trusted, safe and hopeful in addressing your current or past issues. I am very passionate about helping you find solutions to overcome your obstacles so that you can reach your highest potential. I work with adults of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, life-transitions, grief and loss, career and academic burn out, relationship issues, trauma and many other challenges.

Aside from treating common anxiety and depression symptoms, I have over a decade of experience working with eating disorders and trauma. I also have more recent experience working with ADHD symptoms. I am an LGBTQ accomplice and have experience supporting clients in various stages of their queer journey.

I am so excited to offer both counseling and clinical supervision services within my practice. I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist. I have worked extensively in community behavioral health settings and have a wealth of experience to share with licensee's. I believe that people are resilient and that being alongside a person through their own individual journey is a sacred honor. I work with clients to strengthen and foster healing, growth, health and wellness. My theoretical framework is person centered and I tailor my interventions to the individual client.

My goal in therapy is to help you achieve a deeper understanding of why you may struggle to cope with stress and anxiety or make the desired behavioral changes you identify as needed in your life. I will work with you to explore your goals and motives, while learning about the neurobiological underpinnings of what we understand as our human "fight, flight of freeze" responses, which can often sabotage our ability to respond in ways that avoid exacerbating our situation and/or damaging our relationships with others. Together we will explore how you can learn to identify and short-circuit your emotional triggers.

Currently accepting clients for anxiety workshop only. Are you anxious? Struggling with trauma? Needing a space to process multicultural experiences? I enjoy helping people address trauma, depression, anxiety, and increase the ability to manage emotions. I also help with adjusting to medical diagnoses. My passion is working with you to look at your cultural experiences and working to navigate race-related stress, immigrant, first generation, or multiracial identities, and LGBT identity concerns.

Offering individual therapy in person or via telehealth (for clients physically located in Oregon at time of session). Clients in my practice are mainly college aged students as well as adults of all backgrounds. Focuses include struggles with depressed moods, anxiety, panic attacks, self-esteem, family of origin exploration, relationships, transitions, pregnancy/postpartum, parenthood, social concerns, work and school challenges, adjustment and personal growth. Life can be hard. Counseling can be a space to look at the puzzle pieces of your life with renewed insight and growth.

I have a person-centered approach to therapy. My main goal is to provide a safe supportive environment, so you can begin taking steps towards healing and change. I work with clients in a non judgmental manner. I believe therapy should always be collaborative. Engaging with one another in the therapeutic relationship is essential and I believe therapy should never feel forced. It is very important for me to meet you where you are in your readiness to heal, change, and grow.
