My therapy is collaborative and hopefully leaves you feeling empowered to make real and meaningful change in your life.
Only accepting IHN and cash online clients. Do you sometimes feel like your own mind is against you? Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, existential angst, lack of motivation, or interpersonal alienation and difficulty getting your needs met? I have a whole bag of tricks that I've developed in my 15+ year career that may help; and what I've found helps most is the therapeutic relationship itself. My goal as a counselor is always to be a mental health ally, to be present and focused. To help you figure out concrete and actionable goals to help you grow more towards being the best version of yourself.

Are you coming for help with adjusting to a life transition, healing trauma, grieving a loss, coping with a diagnosis, or not quite getting to what your life is all about? Our work begins with my deeply listening to what brings you into therapy. Deep listening can be so healing in itself. I am strength-based, collaborative and practical.

As a social worker, my focus is on the "big picture" — including environment, past experiences, and future expectations. I assist clients in coping with life transitions, managing anxiety, depression, attention deficit, sleeplessness, chronic health conditions, caregiver role strain, or accommodating a traumatic loss. We can help you find more fulfilling work and relationships. I am licensed and provide tele-visits to anyone in Arizona and Oregon. I sometimes offer in-person appointments if desired.

Everyday we make choices from the very mundane like what we have for breakfast or which shirt to wear, to the life changing like taking a new job, getting married, or moving somewhere you've never been. However easily these questions (and others) may be answered by some, there are many who have difficulty because the answers are not always so clear. Counseling can help in these moments of uncertainty. Whether it is a few hours of voicing your concerns or several months of assistance, a counselor can help you tackle life challenges more easily.

Welcome! All of us come to a time in our lives where we want to talk to someone. In a safe place to process our thoughts and feelings, while using self-compassion and nonjudgment. To come to a deeper understanding of our behaviors, emotions, and ideas, or what the root may be. We then develop our sense of clarity and pleasures in life. We cooperatively define the direction of your counseling session and goals. We are all unique in our humanity, as our situations and experiences are all different yet the same. And at the beginning of each day, we can all conclude "I am enough".

I subscribe to the notion that life is a spiritual journey, and that each of us, define our own, unique meaning, design, and destination.
We all become (at some point) shackled to a stuck version of ourselves. Being vulnerable enough to choose something other than our perfectly practiced persona can seem ~impossible. Is your ~asker too broken to learn another way? It takes courage to recreate, redefine, and let go of what doesn't work! "I Don't Know," become very important words when we choose to sail the rough seas...and yet, the risk can be so beautiful. It becomes excruciatingly clear that the pain of staying where we are, must become more acute than leaping into something wonderfully new!

I look forward to hearing about your experiences, how they have been affecting your ability to reach your goals, and begin to work together to increase healthy tools to better manage inevitable life stressors when they arise.
The best way to reach me is via email, as opposed to phone. Thanks! - - - - - - - - - - - - - I find the greatest success working with clients who over-think and ruminate, feeding negative valuations of themselves and the world around them, and who struggle with accompanying forms of worry, anxiety, and perfectionism. In providing a safe, non-judgmental space in which to build rapport, and by utilizing a conversational style, clients often feel more comfortable opening up and addressing the issues bringing them to counseling.

The first step in a journey that may not always be easy but can allow you to more consciously create the life you desire.
I truly believe that each of us has the ability to heal ourselves, to live a meaningful and joy-filled existence, and learn to love, honor, and celebrate ourselves. However, there are a multitude of barriers to this way of living. Trauma, self-doubt, painful relationships, grief, loss, disconnection, and loneliness can leave scars on our hearts and minds that affect our behaviors, our relationships, and how we regard ourselves.

My warm and compassionate approach is focused on you as the expert of your own life, experience, and story.
Perhaps you are going through a rough patch and could use support and guidance, or perhaps you’ve struggled for many years and would like to see things differently, live things differently and are ready to “do therapy.” You are not broken. We each of us are inherently whole and in response to internalized messages and expected roles, or difficult situations and difficult histories, ill health, extreme stressors or trauma, our lives can feel broken. My passion is to help you feel more connected to yourself and the people you love and the world around you.

I believe healing starts with being kind to ourselves. Life has a tendency to throw curve balls that trigger old hurts and make us feel small and inadequate. It’s these very moments of vulnerability that provide opportunities to learn and step into a bigger version of ourselves - if we are ready. It is my honor to walk alongside you on your journey to connecting to yourself and the world around you, and figuring out next steps. I believe in a holistic approach that involves mind, body, heart and soul, each of which provide unique information about the work that is needed at this time.

My expertise lies in working with individuals navigating life transitions, feeling disconnected from their purpose or meaning, seeking to be free of repetitive patterns, and motivated to heal trauma.
Often, we find ourselves stuck, with thoughts, feelings, and patterns that can undermine the hopes we have for ourselves and our lives. We may be struggling with depression or anxiety, a relationship, an inner critic that will not quiet, a lack of meaning/purpose, or life transitions. My intention is to create a safe, nonjudgmental, authentic space where all parts of you are welcome and where your full self is acknowledged and heard. With a deeply felt understanding of mind-body healing, I use a holistic approach that provides opportunities for greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

I believe that anyone who chooses to live an empowered life can optimize their reality of health and happiness.
I am accepting new clients. I help clients who seek to increase their strengths, awareness, openness, flexibility, intelligence (IQ and EQ), resiliency, create empowering processes and solutions leading to meaningful life engagement, and improving quality of life. I have worked with all ages, backgrounds and issues, individuals, couples and families. I have found the best predictor of effective therapy is how well the client connects with the therapist. I am open to working with all people, cultures and conditions.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
