I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the State of Oregon, as well as a License Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I have provided treatment to individuals suffering from eating disorders, substance use disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, marital and relational issues, grief and loss, as well as all forms of anxiety disorders, mood disorders and a vast range of substance, sex and gambling disorders.

Difficulty is a part of life. Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, trauma... These are just some of the common experiences that bring people to counseling. I think growth and healing are most likely to occur when we feel safe, understood, connected, and believe that we matter. As a psychologist with over 40 years in practice, I have worked with many kinds of people with many kinds of problems: depression, anxiety, childhood physical and sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, addictions. I work with late adolescents, adults and seniors. My orientation is integrative, with much experience in psychodynamic therapies, Gestalt Therapy and am certified in EMDR. When does wanting something more become an issue? When our normal desire for change has no recognized solutions. When our wants lead to self-rejection or frustration that keep those we care about at arms-length. When we disengage to avoid expressing a need, but get accused of not caring. We prepare for arguments before entering the room and the script plays out as expected, but it's not what we want. These are common struggles without generic answers. Relationship dynamics are as unique as the individuals who live them, which is why change requires specific approaches addressing unique issues.

Hello! My name is Megan, and I am a counslor-in-training at Oregon City Counseling while pursuing my Masters in Clinical Social Work through Rutgers University. While in my undergrad, I played Division 1 basketball through Cal State Fullerton and Portland State University. Through that experience, I became passionate about athletes mental health and their transition out of their respective sports. Outside of session, you can find me working on my crochet project, reading a good book or attempting to bake or cook a new recipe.
