Perhaps you are going through a rough patch and could use support and guidance, or perhaps you’ve struggled for many years and would like to see things differently, live things differently and are ready to “do therapy.” You are not broken. We each of us are inherently whole and in response to internalized messages and expected roles, or difficult situations and difficult histories, ill health, extreme stressors or trauma, our lives can feel broken. My passion is to help you feel more connected to yourself and the people you love and the world around you.

My goal is to provide a place for you to talk about concerns whether they are day to day life stressors or serious mental health issues that are getting in the way of you living your best life. I believe sometimes we need a non-judgmental objective view to help us find ways to take the next step in our lives. I work with individuals who are struggling with stress, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, self-exploration, self-compassion, anxiety, and ADHD.

My ideal client is someone who is willing to work, at whatever level that may be for them. It is important to celebrate and build on small successes. Change can be scary. The idea of therapy can be terrifying for some, and a relief for others. If you are reading through this, it means you are likely searching for something. I believe that in therapy a space is created to help you to work on your goals in an environment that is supportive and safe. While therapy is not an end all, it helps you to discover more about yourself and the interactions you have in your daily life. Therapy is what you make it.

I work with adolescents and adults. I focus on helping people change unhappy patterns in their lives and find relief from suffering. I primarily utilize a psychodynamic approach which means helping clients gain insight into the dynamics of maladaptive patterns that have evolved in their lives. Gaining insight is often the first step, or the foundation, of positive change. I also do EMDR and parts work to facilitate recovery from trauma.

Therapy is an opportunity for one to learn new skills, manage specific struggles or a mental illness, and build upon strengths that lead toward a more satisfying and meaningful life. My therapy style is interpersonal in nature which means I rely on building a strong relationship with my clients as the main avenue of change. My areas of expertise include working with clients facing any of the following issues: depression, anxiety, relationship distress, eating/body image, sexual, career uncertainty, and identity (race, nationality, sexual orientation, (trans)gender, age, religion/spirituality).

Welcome! All of us come to a time in our lives where we want to talk to someone. In a safe place to process our thoughts and feelings, while using self-compassion and nonjudgment. To come to a deeper understanding of our behaviors, emotions, and ideas, or what the root may be. We then develop our sense of clarity and pleasures in life. We cooperatively define the direction of your counseling session and goals. We are all unique in our humanity, as our situations and experiences are all different yet the same. And at the beginning of each day, we can all conclude "I am enough".

Practice and Wait-list are Full. I work with women who are experiencing symptoms from the impact of trauma, loss and/or attachment-related issues. I utilize attachment focused EMDR. I have found that the majority of dysregulation and related symptoms (anxiety, depression, mood instability) can be effectively treated with attachment focused EMDR & other effective trauma treatment modalities.
