Hello, my name is Jen in Makin and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in girls and women’s mental health services. I have extensive training in managing high risk situations and crisis. I have 15 years of experience working within the field of mental health, including working in acute inpatient settings and outpatient. I am DBT skill focused therapist and believe in teaching emotional self reliance through boundaries. I am trained in Crisis Management, addiction recovery, DBT interventions and family systems. I work hard to ensure my clients feel heard and leave much better than I found them.
I specialize in treating girls and women facing life challenges, including high risk situations, including suicidal tendencies, recent victims of violent acts, self-harming behaviors and trauma, including emotional, sexual, physical abuse. I work with individuals, one by one, attempting to manage conflict and stress due to addiction, trauma, betrayal.
I understand the pain that broken family systems and relationships may cause. I am committed to create the best counseling experience for my clients and their families.
