We all want a harmonious and peaceful connection with our love ones. Sometimes we find ourselves at an impasse with our partners, children, friends, or co-workers. These impasses act as barriers that keep our relationships from growing or moving forward. Counseling /therapy gives a person the opportunity to see a "barrier" from a different perspective while acquiring new skills to move through the barrier or eliminating the barrier it self. Many times our underline intentions are good ones but our solutions to a problem may become barriers themselves. We may just need a different perspective or create a new way of behaving.
A good counseling session consists of a conversation where there is no judgement, or preconceived notions. The counselor/therapist is an expert in listening and therefore can really understand and reflect back what the person is feeling, thinking and hoping for their future. In the process of this conversation a healing environment is created.
