My office is a safe and welcoming space where you are encouraged to begin the healing process. I will attempt to make your first visit comfortable and inspire hope that you can emerge fully. I will try to keep paperwork to a minimum, some of which can be completed online. I will work with you to make sure your experience is as worry-free as possible recognizing the importance of your first encounter.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have over 26 years of experience. I see clients of varied ages and backgrounds. I have multiple years of continuing education focusing on adolescents, young adults, women going through life changes and parent coaching. My former life experience as a teacher, school crisis counselor and mother has aided in my understanding of the challenges my clients face. I have been in private practice for over 40 years and have always had a broad general practice, which I prefer due to my ability to shift gears, when appropriate, to work with individuals, couples, families, or groups. It also fits my varied interests professionally in many diverse aspects of practice and treatment.

My aim is to address the immediate concerns of the people I work with in the greater context of their life experience. The people who see me are manifold, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I believe that people are more than the sum of a set of symptoms, and thus strive to incorporate the whole person into the therapeutic process. In attending to relational, emotional, spiritual, and existential concerns, I hope to help people live more fulfilling lives consistent with their values.

I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoy helping individuals with issues such as ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, and anger. I also have experience with children and teens with ADHD, ADD, ODD, low self esteem and much more. I am neurofeedback trained and EMDR trained, which gives me the ability to treat trauma along with behavioral issues. By treating the two together we are able to fix the core issues along with the behavioral issues. I love clients with eclectic issues, goals, and needs and collaborating with them to achieve these goals and enhance their lives.

We acquire these skills over time, through our experiences and upbringing. Some are healthy coping strategies, some are not. David received his Masters in Addiction Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma and has been in recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism since June 9th, 2015. Inspired by his own recovery journey, David returned to school so he can help others on their recovery journey. He has a passion for empowering people to improve their relationships and circumstances and find sobriety. David enjoys working with individuals, adolescents, groups, and families struggling with substance use disorders and mental health.

I am trained as a generalist trained to meet the mental health needs of a large scope of the population. I help you to get unstuck from where you are at and set you on a path that provides greater purpose, meaning, and hopefully greater peace.
