Gina’s journey to counseling was anything but direct. After completing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling (with a specialization in crisis and trauma) at Walden University in 2015, Gina worked at the University of Central Oklahoma as an academic advisor. Her life took an unexpected turn when in November 2019, Gina’s husband was killed in a tragic military aviation training accident. The tremendous loss of her husband affected her in many ways, including gaining a greater understanding of the impact of grief and trauma as well as the secondary losses that occur as part of reconciling the death of a spouse.

Sometimes life can take us unexpected places, leaving us feeling unsure of our path forward. I believe in meeting you where you are and helping you get back on track or finding a whole new one in a judgment free straight forward atmosphere of collaboration and safety. After over 20 years as a psychologist, I have moved to a completely online practice. While this format may not be appropriate or comfortable for all people, for many it can be a great resource. The online format for therapy has been shown to be therapeutically effective, and it can be a great vehicle for forming a strong, caring therapeutic alliance that is the basis for future growth.

I work with clients who are gender questioning, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, or members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I also work with clients wishing to address issues related to sex or sexuality. My services are sex positive and weight neutral. I welcome clients seeking a therapist who is affirming in the areas of non-monogamy and kink.
