Not currently accepting new clients. My approach to counseling is "It is much easier to move a couch into an upstairs apartment with someone on the other end of it." What I mean by this is that we experience situations that can be very challenging to deal with on our own. We often struggle with wanting to be our authentic selves, in finding our individual purpose, and in healing from our past traumas. We want to improve our self concept, our daily functioning and our relationships. Most issues become much more manageable with someone there to “help carry some of the weight.” This is what I attempt to do as a therapist.

Thank you for your interest in my practice. I am a LPC with twenty years of mental health experience. I believe that therapy works best when it is a collaborative effort with therapist and client working together. While my approach is eclectic, recognizing that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach to counseling, I do work primarily from a Psychodynamic and Interpersonal perspective. There is more to counseling than a particular theoretical orientation. Providing a safe, supportive environment and the ability to sense what a person needs at a particular time are important therapeutic skills.

I hold my client's trust as sacred and consider it an honor each time I am invited into their life stories. I believe a good counseling service is one where the client has a sense of being in the "drivers seat" throughout the process. This approach allows people to have a strong sense of ownership of their personal growth that empowers them for future life challenges.
