I am taking clients aged 13 and up at this time, I specialize in trauma (PTSD, addiction, abuse, neglect) and women's body issues (menopausal, hormone issues) and bariatric issues. I also am now seeing seniors with original Medicare card only (red, white, and blue). I offer individual therapy, not couples counseling. Ages 13 and up (I do not take SoonerCare/Medicaid as a primary insurance only secondary) and I take several commercial insurances and EAP plans, please call for specific and to see if yours is taken.

Helping people move out of survival mode & into a thriving life is my passion. My specialty is trauma recovery using EMDR (among other therapy approaches) with an emphasis on dissociation, grief, & religious deconstruction. Maybe you lost an important person & the grief is overwhelming or confusing. Or you were raised in a religious belief system that you are starting to see was harmful to you but don't know what to do about that. Or you are recently divorced and you to desire a different way of relating to yourself & others. I believe you are the expert in your life but deserve to not be alone on your journey to your highest self.

Sometimes life throws more at us than we know how to handle! Trauma, anxiety and depression impact so many of us, sometimes in ways we can't imagine. In those times we can all feel overwhelmed and alone. I so firmly believe that it is in those times that reaching out for the help of others is a sign of strength and wisdom. I consider it a privilege to partner with my clients as they learn to adjust to and thrive in ups and downs of life!

My primary clients are individuals between 2 - 21 years (Adults on a case-by-case basis). I work with children and their families to provide more information about current presenting social, emotional, and/or behavioral concerns through a thorough assessment (i.e., 5+ hours of direct assessment) and/or through counseling. In counseling, I alone cannot change the person once per week or every other week; parents are key to successful treatment by implementing appropriate strategies, support, and structure needed for improvement (i.e., there is work for the adults too!). I can also help with navigating the school system. So, "How can I help?"

I am not your typical therapist and for some, that is a healing thing. I'm down-to-earth and can be a bit unrefined yet am educated, articulate and centered on your mental health. I come from a diverse background of working with rape victims through survivorship, children in the foster care system, mothers and fathers through infant and child loss, survivors of suicide, children coping with divorce, individuals healing from trauma, couples, general mental health issues, as well as with parents and children transitioning their relationships. I utilize CBT, DBT, EMDR, and person-centered approaches to fit your way of connecting.

Life comes with many challenges and changes that can be difficult to navigate, and sometimes it can feel as though you are lacking the support you need. My goal as a therapist is to first and foremost provide a safe environment so that clients can feel comfortable exploring and working through all of the difficulties that they face, in addition to having a space to celebrate their victories. I take a humanistic approach to counseling while also using other treatments which align with the needs of my clients.

I have a strong passion to help women, non-binary and transgender individuals struggling with their bodies and relationship with food. I enjoy working with those who have experienced trauma and complex trauma, to help you find healing and to become the true authentic human you were meant to be. I can also provide a safe space to process the complicated emotions and challenges that arise from chronic illness. Additionally, I have a special interest in and enjoy working alongside those living with autism and lower support needs.
