I am Tara Chase, a Pre-Licensed LPC candidate. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one that should always be safe for the client to express their needs and concerns. Additionally, I have worked with adolescents for over 10 years. Having been a caregiver, I understand the resulting stress of those responsibilities on both the caregiver and the family as a whole.

I SEE CLIENTS 18 AND OLDER for individual therapy. Sometimes all of life seems overwhelming. Other times a single event triggers intense reactions and emotions. Still other times natural life transitions – finishing a degree, changing careers, marriage, parenthood, divorce, or retirement – stir up unexpected emotions. Counseling offers an opportunity to process thoughts & feelings, evaluate current habits and build new skills, leading to improved self-respect, healthier relationships and progress toward life goals.

One of my primary goals as a therapist is to highlight the tendency we have to let the problems we experience interfere with the things in life that we value most. This can leave us feeling extremely frustrated, unfulfilled, and even hopeless! I want to help people learn to practice acceptance and mindfulness, as we develop and determine a sense of direction, with the goal of restoring a sense of meaning and purpose in life.

Neurofeedback is a type of therapy that uses real-time feedback of brain activity to help individuals learn how to regulate and improve their brain function. It is a non-invasive, safe and drug-free way to address a variety of mental and physical health conditions. During a neurofeedback session, electrodes are placed on the scalp to monitor brain activity. This information is then fed back to the client through visual or auditory feedback, which can take the form of videos, movies, or music. As the client learns to regulate their brain activity, they are rewarded with positive feedback, such as the screen getting brighter.

Today, you can begin a different path in relationships with others and with yourself. In some way, we are impacted every day by our view of ourselves and by those around us. I believe a large part of healing from negative experiences starts with being honest with ourselves and opening up. Depression, anxiety, shame, resentment, and many other issues affect us and our relationships on a regular basis. Together, we can begin to turn difficulties into experiences that lead to a better future.

I see teenagers with ADHD, anxiety, depression, drug usage, divorce, and school related issues.

Finding the time to work on ourselves can seem overwhelming. Seeking help can be anxiety provoking. But when we take the time to sift through the pain, improve our relationships and overall health, then our quality of life can improve. We can also learn how to better manage the difficult times that come. Life isn't always pleasant, but you don't have to go through it alone.
