In my practice I see clients of all ages, for therapy and testing/evaluations. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse/dependence, behavior disorders and family systems issues. Most of my clients present with a combination of symptoms. I tailor treatment to the specific needs of the client and use research proven techniques to meet the needs of the individual, or family, in a collaborative setting. I teach healthy coping skills to address a wide range of symptoms.

Counseling Solutions & Interventions is a contracted outpatient behavioral health and substance abuse program. Our goals are to assist individuals with healthy living skills. C S & I realizes that treatment requires ongoing services that involve continuum of care. C S & I makes appropriate referrals during and after the provision of services. C S & I conducts initial assessment, provides therapeutic interventions, consulting, and ongoing evaluations to assist individuals with making decisions about provision of services. Services are designed to always address the unique needs of each individuals served. Services include: psychotherapy, psycho social rehabilitation, educational presentations, job placement and case management as needed

One of my primary goals as a therapist is to highlight the tendency we have to let the problems we experience interfere with the things in life that we value most. This can leave us feeling extremely frustrated, unfulfilled, and even hopeless! I want to help people learn to practice acceptance and mindfulness, as we develop and determine a sense of direction, with the goal of restoring a sense of meaning and purpose in life.

Honesty, open-mindedness & willingness are pillars of recovery which have stayed with me over the years. These pillars are an integral part of my counseling practice. I have had success applying these pillars with a diverse population with a wide variety of challenges. These challenges include addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and chronic pain. I have 28 years in the Deaf Education classroom as a teacher and have changed over to being a nationally certified counselor of the Deaf/HOH and their families. I am working towards my licensing in Oklahoma with Joy Oliver LPCS. She is my supervisor. I counsel Tuesdays through Friday using Sign Language and a Client Centered Therapeutic approach. I am comfortable in working with all age groups. I am a contract employee of Beacon Pointe and I can accept Medicaid clients.

As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with barriers and unresolved elements of experience that create patterns in and through our lives. Patterns can dictate our past, present and future if left unattended. My focus is to work with individuals and families to empower themselves through identification of stored experiences and patterns. I provide a safe place to be curious and observe and work with parts of our experience that are asking for attention. I incorporate tracking body sensations and the rhythms of nervous system in order to bring awareness to stress, tension, and trauma in the nervous system and body.

Jack Smith has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Ethics, and a master’s degree in Counseling, both from Mid America Christian University, in Oklahoma City. After graduating and finishing his practicum hours, Jack is currently completing his LPC candidacy at Mid Del Youth and Family Center, working with students in the Midwest City and Del City area. He began working in group homes as a houseparent and activities coordinator.
