Are you exploring your gender identity or sexuality? Are you trying to understand your LGBTQ+ kiddo or loved one? Maybe you already know who you are, but need a safe affirming place to process the many facets of your identity. Imagine if you felt confident enough to show up as your authentic self everyday; if you felt more informed and prepared to advocate for yourself and loved ones. Would feeling more confident, empowered, and equipped take a weight off your chest?

My passion in life is guiding others on their healing journey. I am honored to be a part of people's lives by helping them find their own personal value and worth. If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, stress, anxiety, depression, etc. I am here to help you. If you would like to work on the relationship you have with yourself, I can help with that too. When we heal the relationship with ourselves the relationships in our lives begin to change as well.

Sometimes we get disconnected from important others in our life. We can even feel disconnected from ourselves. We doubt our decisions, question our thoughts, and dismiss our feelings. Traumatic events like combat or abusive relationships as well as unrelenting daily stresses can create this discontent. Even if you feel established personally and professionally, ongoing stressors can cause an "unsettling" that interrupts your quality of life. Having a place to explore those conflicts can be helpful. Even if you're right where you want to be, you may want the space of therapy to reach and understand deeper parts of yourself.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who strongly believes in the benefits of therapy; I have practiced for 35 years, and participated in my own personal work which allows me to be a supportive witness and caring guide. It's important to have a therapist who continues to work on themselves. In our Western culture, listening is often someone waiting for the opportunity to share their own thoughts on what needs to be done. I will actively listen, honor you, and be a witness to your personal experiences. It's important you feel you are in a safe and compassionate environment.

Do you feel like you're constantly trying to live up to others' expectations, leaving little room for your true self? Many of us grew up conforming to what others expected of us, which can be exhausting and unfulfilling. You may find yourself struggling to balance your own needs with the demands of family, work, and society, feeling disconnected from who you truly are. It's common to carry the weight of past experiences, believing that our childhood has no impact on our present lives. However, these early experiences shape our behaviors and emotions in profound ways.

We all have struggles, we all fall short, we have times when we feel we do not measure up, we have crisis, we feel sad and depressed, maybe anxious at times. We are not meant to face our struggles alone. Sometimes trauma from our past have not been resolved and we continue to carry the weight of our past with us.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
