Human beings are very dynamic and have unlimited potential to heal and grow. When I began my journey as a therapist, my goal was to help people not feel so alone in their pain, break mental health stigmas, and find answers hidden within themselves. I bring empathy, humor, compassion and genuine curiosity that is free of assumptions to the healing space. My therapeutic approach is tailored to fit your unique needs and desires. I take pride in guiding you in your journey of gaining insight and self-love to help you live a joyful well-balanced life.

I have worked in both mental health and addiction treatment for the past 20 years. I am a licensed independent social worker with a supervision credential and a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor. I love what I do and feel my biggest reward is seeing past clients doing well after discharge. I truly enjoy watching people get well and learn to relive their lives. I am a master's graduate from Ohio University and as well as being a full-time clinical director I am also an adjunct professor at Zane State College teaching addictions which was a personal goal for myself.

Our approach to therapy is one in which our clients are viewed as resilient and resourceful. Our office is a place where change happens. I am now offering Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to our practice. Horses are extremely intuitive animals and are able to help facilitate change on an emotional relational level that enhances the healing process.I have had a long interest in horses and find a healing effect to be activated when in their presence. This realization was probably the most important driving force that propelled me into this horse/person connection as a modality for treatment.

My specialized areas of focus are trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationships. I use CBT, EF, ACT, and the Gottman method, among others. These approaches acknowledge the unique experiences and cultural nuances that shape the lives of African American people. I create a safe, supportive environment where you can confront and heal from systemic racism, generational trauma, and personal struggles. I understand that seeking therapy can be a courageous and vulnerable step, especially for Black individuals who have historically faced systemic barriers and biases in mental health care. I'm committed to creating a safe space for you!
