I believe that every individual, couple, and family has a story that they can change by gaining insight into their situation and making different choices. I partner with my clients to help them explore the options and tools available to them. Having spent years in the corporate and nonprofit arenas before embarking on my second career as a counselor, I bring real-world knowledge to my sessions. I am genuine with my clients, and sessions with me are just as likely to include laughter as they are tears. I treat each client with respect while asking tough questions that lead to productive conversations.

If we are asking about my "ideal" client, I would say that it is someone who is open-minded. Someone who knows that having struggles is OKAY. Someone who knows that their flaws do not define them. We all have flaws, and that makes us human! It takes a STRONG person to be able to say "hey, this doesn't feel good, I think I need to ask for help", and then DO IT. Life outside of our control is already so chaotic, why not make attempts to bring peace into our lives?

I specialize in working with young adults and adults. I am passionate about working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, self-esteem/body image, and other mental health concerns. During my work with clients, I use a trauma-informed approach that is rooted in acceptance and meeting the client where they are at in the present moment. I believe in a collaborative method where I work side by side with my client to set goals for therapy and identify coping skills that draw from their own unique personal strengths.

I have often explained the following analogy to motivate my patients to thrive: Replenish Your Well. The well water represents your resiliency; your ability to manage and respond appropriately to your environmental stressors. The bucket represents environmental and/or life stressors. Life is going to take buckets of water out of your well. Many people experience numerous life stressors, such as, financial problems, interpersonal relationship stressors, anxiety, depression, mood instability, etc.
