I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Akron and am a Licensed Independent Social Worker as well as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Ohio. I have experience providing counseling services to individuals over the age of eighteen. I have worked in community treatment centers, both inpatient and outpatient for Substance Use Disorders as well as private practice with a focus on mental health. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, stress management, and alcohol and other substance use disorders.

I have seventeen years experience working with children and families involved in the child welfare system. I am dedicated to using a trauma informed approach and acknowledge the need to understand a patient’s life experiences in order to deliver effective care. My experience encompasses stabilizing family systems and engaging families to manage their relationships and interactions in challenging situations.

When a person feels they have lost their way, it is often because they have lost their why. My ideal client is someone who is it trying to get back on track, reach goals, find their why so they can see their way. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome their struggles and live healthier, happier lives. I am committed to providing professional, ethical, compassionate and effective support to any person who is depressed, angry, frustrated, irritated, stressed, anxious, traumatized or grieving. Trauma effects everything in our lives. It effects our health, relationships, work potential and spirituality. Taking the time to understand the neurobiology of how our brain and body respond to trauma is the first step in understanding our pathway to healing and long term health.

I work primarily with young adults and adults who struggle with eating disorders of all types, but I also have extensive training to treat and support the often co-occurring disorders that can accompany eating disorders, such as anxiety, depression, and past trauma. My clinical work and years of experience have shaped my therapeutic practice in a way that attends to the entire continuum of my patient’s care. From the initial meeting, to the celebration that successful termination brings, I work hard to foster trust and learning as we navigate eating disorder recovery together.
