I recognize that we all face challenges in life and sometimes we need someone to walk with us in those challenges to provide support and ask questions that help us regain our power. While I have a particular love for working with teens, young adults, and couples, I have a great deal of experience working with children and families as well. I love to harness each client’s individual strengths and interests including music, spirituality, reading, creative writing, anime, and video games to help identify your values and goals.

Seeking therapy is an act of courage and hope. When we are feeling overwhelmed with our emotions or life's stresses, or stuck in patterns we don't know how to break, it can be difficult to imagine seeing and experiencing ourselves differently. You are capable of exploring and replacing old patterns of thinking and behavior that are not serving you. Are you interested in increasing your ability to cope with difficult feelings, building insight and self-understanding, having more compassion for yourself, learning new skills, and improving your connection and intimacy with others? I can help you on your journey.

Grounded in the belief that experiences and events we have endured do not have to define the person we become. These experiences are part of our story but can only limit us if we allow. We'll explore your past experiences, patterns and processes to determine how it is effecting your current life, and co-create a path as you envision what is next .

I help people recovering from traumatic experiences in relationships and I offer guidance and practical skills to take home. People come because they had a difficult childhood and were hurt by people they were supposed to trust. People who have felt anxious most of their lives and don't know how to stop repeating mistakes. Sometimes clients come as a couple trying to heal from infidelity, built up walls, and pain. These couples are tired of feeling lonely inside a relationship. Couples who want useful communication skills to start healing and feeling connected again, to move forward. Look at my website to find out more.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
