I have many years of experience working with individuals who struggle with mental health and addiction problems. I use a skill-based approach to treatment called dialectical behavioral therapy. This type of treatment focuses on learning how to live in the moment, manage interpersonal relationships effectively, handle life's challenges with grace and competence, and understand and deal with feelings in constructive ways. Using my training and diagnostic knowledge I will develop a comprehensive treatment plan that emphasizes relapse prevention and living a life worth living. I work with a team of other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, and counselors.

Having received training in both Clinical and Forensic psychology, I deliver targeted Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) Therapies to diverse client populations, tailored to the specific needs of each individual. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults with Personality Disorders (Borderline, Narcissistic, Antisocial), Behavioral Disorders (Oppositional Defiant, Anger), Mood Disorders (Anxiety, Depression), and Sexual Dysfunction. I also treat violent and non-violent criminal offenders, sex offenders, perpetrators of domestic violence, and various other forensic populations.

Dr. Shelton is a clinical psychologist, born and raised in the Mahoning Valley. He has experience working in a variety of settings, including community mental health, behavioral schools, college counseling, outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals and corrections. He enjoys working with a wide range of patient populations of all ages and demographics, providing individual, family, and couples psychotherapy. I am a licensed Psychologist (OH, NJ, NY) with over 35 years clinical experience. I am also a licensed/admitted attorney in OH, NJ and in NY. I have a special interest in forensic child custody and parenting time/best interests of the child evaluations. I also perform forensic evaluations and treatment related to Worker's Compensation claims in Ohio. I completed the required 40-hour pre-appointment course for custody evaluators in Ohio.

Dr. Hao Chu is a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio. He received his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, Psy.D., from Wright State University, School of Professional Psychology. He has years of professional experience in working with clients to overcome issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, and personal relationships. Dr. Chu is a cognitive-behavioral based therapist, who often integrates elements of humanistic, multicultural, and interpersonal theory in his practice. Moreover, he believes in engaging clients with empathy and compassion.
