I’m passionate about helping teens and adults navigate through boundaries and values distinctive to them. At the same time, I also like helping people understand why and what they are feeling. Adverse life experiences and shame can impact the way we interact with the world around us. This can lead to further depression, anxiety and risky situations. By us walking together through the complexity and unique intricate workings of the human experience, my hope is by the end of our time you have grown in an understanding of yourself and the relationships you hold.

Embracing our unique life experiences enriches our perspective and fosters growth. It's through this understanding that we can cultivate resilience, discover new coping mechanisms, and lead an intentional and purposeful life. Each challenge we overcome teaches us more about ourselves and the world, guiding us towards a more grace filled life. My approach supports clients motivated to change and engage in personal growth, empowers them to uncover and understand their core beliefs and emotions, and cultivates confidence to live their life as their authentic self.

My ideal client is an individual who is open to working as a team and benefiting from a therapeutic relationship in which honesty, accountability, and empathy are paramount. While a client’s concerns are unique and personal, there is nothing they cannot overcome through effective therapeutic interventions and a highly-trained and relatable clinician.

Moments of unhappiness or dissatisfaction are inevitable but don’t have to be permanent. When working with clients, I believe it is important to identify what’s not working. However, identifying the problem does not solve the problem. To fix a problem, change needs to happen. During therapy, I work closely with my clients to identify where change can occur and what changes are going to create the best outcome. My goal for my clients is to function better in their daily lives.

People seek counseling for any number of reasons and I consider it a privilege that I might be invited into a client's life to provide support during times of change, healing, and growth. My approach involves a warm and relaxed attitude towards counseling, truly listening to your story, non-judgement, focusing on strengths, and helping to shift the negative beliefs that are preventing you from living a happier and fuller life.

I have been providing mental health services since 1985 and continue to be excited about helping people meet their potential. In the last 35 years through my various roles I have had the privilege of overseeing the treatment of tens of thousands of clients and helped develop hundreds of therapists using the best, evidenced based approaches to care. These experiences have allowed me to learn what works and doesn’t work in helping people meet their behavioral health needs. My goal is to now provide this knowledge and experience at a personal level to clients who have a strong desire to improve.

My ideal client is ready to do the hard work of making real change in their life. Sometimes, people think change has to be big to start therapeutic services; it doesn’t. Sometimes, learning to breathe, decrease anxiety, and be more mindful of your strengths can become a great asset. Therapy doesn’t have to be forever; sometimes, you just need help getting through the now. I help individuals & families dealing with chronic illnesses and end of life. At times like those, crises often happen: medical conflict, spiritual conflict, familial conflict, financial concerns, housing and food insecurity.
