I love my work. I have really enjoyed getting to know my clients over the past 35 years. Although I consult with adults, adolescents & children, I also see many couples and families. My clients are never the problem, they have problems and need solutions and strategies to get "unstuck" or make changes in their lives. I have also found personal, business and career coaching helpful to many clients. I am the owner of a large practice with psychologists, psychiatrists & counselors. If my hours or approach does not fit your needs I will find someone who can assist you.

I assist people who are experiencing personal and relationship problems, those who are chronic worriers, withdraw and avoid too much or are excessively sad and depressed. I also counsel those whose lives are shattered by severe trauma, loss, marital conflict, divorce, aging, and delusional thinking/psychosis. I apply theory, methods, and approaches that work best with the unique needs and personality of the person, couple, or family I'm counseling.

Driven, high-functioning and intelligent people are not immune to hitting the occasional speed bump in life. These challenges can be particularly frustrating when you already possess a number of resources. At these times, developing new skills to overcome obstacles in your personal and professional lives is essential.

Congratulations on taking action! Choosing a therapist can be difficult. It is important to find someone you can be comfortable talking to, you feel safe with, and most importantly, one who has the skills to help you.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a mental/emotional health issue I want you to know that there is hope. Mental Health counseling (psychotherapy) has been proven to help people recover strength, hope, wellbeing, and a sense of purpose/meaning in life for people suffering from mental and emotional struggles. My approach in helping you involves establishing a trust relationship and a safe therapy environment. While being supportive, insightful, and a good listener I will help you learn who you are, help you discover the source of your pain and help you learn to move beyond that pain.

As your therapist, my goal is to collaborate with you; to explore your hopes, where you feel stuck or overwhelmed, and how you can move forward. As our work proceeds, we will develop a clearer understanding of your experiences, the difficulties you face, strengths you can develop and lean on, and how you can more fully live the life that you really want.

Many people turn to psychotherapy or counseling for help with anxiety, depression, trauma, painful relationship patterns, feeling stuck, or sometimes just the feeling that something is missing from life. Sometimes we may not have the words to describe our feelings, struggles or suffering. However, with insight into past relationships and experiences, many people can make progress immediately towards overcoming these difficulties and becoming more effective in their work and relationships.

Adulting is hard is one of the most consistent messages, whether it's coming from a Tiktok video or from the people we care about. Having witnessed the persons struggle through detoxing, trying to figure out how to be really seen and heard by their partner without repeating the same conflict patterns, wrestling with depression about the past and/or anxiety about the future, I agree with the messages. I've also been there when someone in recovery reunites with their community, partners work to repair their relationship, and people who've been weighed down for years experience some relief. That type of outcome is what I work towards.

We live in a fast-paced world with lots of distractions, temptations, and negativity. It can be hard to reach out for help when these issues begin to overwhelm your life. Many of my clients come to me because they are stressed out (anxiety from work, school, family) and need a new perspective. My main priority is to help my clients sort through these everyday challenges and help implement positive change. Whether you are having challenges within your relationships, grieving the loss of a loved one, or dealing with any sort of stress or anxiety, allow me to help walk you through this journey.

You never know until you try. - I understand the hurt caused by anxiety, depression, couples' issues and trauma and my approach to therapy is client-centered. I work to find the most-effective treatment for each individual. I accomplish this by seeking feedback from my clients and applying it. Most often, I offer suggestions for actions to take between sessions, with the goal of changing behaviors in order to improve daily functioning. Clients also often experience catharsis in being able to talk about things in session that they otherwise would not have been able to say out loud. I offer an unconditional environment for that.

I have experience working with clients who suffer from a range of mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and more. I take an approach that involves meeting clients where they are. I learn about their stories and assess what the right path is for their needs and goals. Having a client who is open and receptive to therapy is all a therapist could and should ask for.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, various forms of addiction, autism, & more. Are your goals oriented towards reducing maladaptive symptoms, identifying the behaviors you wish to engage in, being the person you want to be, and, ultimately, the life you aspire to live? Do you desire change and growth & are willing to put the necessary effort in? As your counselor, I do not effect change; that responsibility belongs to you. I aim to empower you to recognize your innate strengths, develop them further, and effectively use them towards your goals in life.
