Our office is a warm, friendly, and professional place. Respect and personal diginity are two things I value, and try to make part of everything I do. In session, I usually have an eye on how to make positive and realistic change one day at a time. I often provide homework to challenge clients to be growing outside of our sessions. I understand how difficult it is to connect with a therapist. I offer free consults so you can meet me and see if it is good fit.

Welcome! I work to create a non-judgmental safe space to make individuals feel comfortable with opening up and making treatment individual to you. Often, we can lose sight of the things that make our life rich and meaningful because life gets messy. I aim to learn about the unique aspects of yourself that make you who you are in order to best treat you. I adapt components of branches of therapy such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR to meet your needs and develop new and effective strategies. My ultimate goal is to empower you to meet your goals, connect to your values, and feel you have control back in your life.

You feel like your romantic relationship lacks direction. You start arguing over small things, but the arguments perhaps persist because you both focus on winning instead of solving the problem. You have stressful careers, but meeting career and home demands seem impossible. You want the best for your kids, but are you pushing them too hard or not hard enough? Perhaps you are both used to getting your way at work, but at home, there is a need for compromise. Maybe the spark that was once there has left, at least most of the time. You want to have what you once had, but are not sure how. You love your partner but aren't "in love."

Nothing is more frustrating than trying really hard and still feeling like a particular problem or relationship is not improving. Does this sentence describe you? Do you feel like no matter how hard you try; your marriage is still stuck? Or you cannot figure out some aspect of parenting? If this frustration of trying without improvement describes an important aspect of your life, then now is the time to try therapy.

Life isn’t what you thought it would be. It can be overwhelming and we can all feel disconnected from our family, our relationships, even ourselves. Perhaps you are struggling with family issues, marital conflict, or life stresses. These can affect our relationships, the way we parent, and even our work performance. I am a marriage and family therapist who can help you explore and change the patterns and behaviors that keep you from feeling connected and building quality relationships.

As a therapist, I always had a mission and a vision to guide my practice. My mission is to help a person see the potential they have within themselves. My vision is to lead a person towards their goal and upon attaining their goal, they’ll feel that they were able to accomplish it themselves.

We live in a time where mental health struggle is a highly prevalent reality. I regularly talk with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with challenges including anxiety, ADHD, depression, and family concerns. Many times, we feel depressed and anxious because of negative thoughts about self, overwhelming circumstances, and challenging relational dynamics. These concerns are extremely common and are causing many people to have difficulty experiencing life with joy and satisfaction and functioning to their full potential.

Not accepting new clients
As I see it, it is my task to help clients sort things out and make issues clear so they can make decisions they can live with, not just in the short-run but forever and without regret. That is a tall order, but it can be done if gently we unpack the clutter that surrounds a person or persons in an atmosphere that is safe but challenging, focused but unhurried, and with deep appreciation of things important to the individuals.

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply want to feel unstuck with where you are in life, it may be time to meet with a counselor. Whether you're new to therapy or are returning, it can be helpful to know upfront how the process works as every counselor's treatment approach varies.

Male Therapists
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client. Prospective clients should also ask what the expectation is for treatment, and what the fee structure is, and whether and which insurance plans are accepted.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with a male therapist. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges, in the case of male clients. Some women have prior negative experiences with women that predispose them to prefer working with a male in therapy. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
