Hello, my name is Lucretia. I work in the mental health field because it is my passion. Without question, navigating life has gotten harder. Sooner or later, everyone hits a bump in the road that seems insurmountable. I have been a therapist for 30 years and know the pain of depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, loss/grief and addictions. Counseling offers a safe place where you are not alone. Offering a chance to step back, reflect, and sort things out. A new perspective changes things. I attended The Ohio State University.

Alice Walker said, "the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." Have you given up your power? Depression and anxiety can make us believe that we don't have any power and that things are hopeless. If you struggle with your daily life, relationships, self-esteem, and adjustment to changes, therapy can be a wonderful tool to help aid in your growth and find your power. Black and brown women have a lot coming at them and it can often make you feel powerless, let's work together to work through those things that may be holding you down.

Our lives can be difficult to work through at times especially if we are trying to cope with life's challenges. These stressors impact our mental health well-being if we use faulty coping techniques to work through them. Our feelings' can be overwhelming along with life changes which I am trained to assist clients' with. These challenges help us to grow through counseling techniques such as: trauma focused techniques, cognitive behavioral approaches, motivational approaches and solution-focused approaches.

Many of us are hurting for many different reasons. Some may come from a broken family, experience financial burdens, have medical problems, have lost loved ones, or are stressed from attempted perfectionism. Children experience adjustment difficulties, behavioral issues, and trauma; Adolescents: new hormones, bullying, depression, identity struggles, peer pressure, and fears of the future; Adults: relational conflict, family conflict, financial hardships, prejudices, and difficult life changes. What most of us have in common is that we want to feel good about ourselves, needed, and belonged.
