I did not arrive here by accident. I was created and birthed to help people. With a background in education, I love to teach. Based on my personal style, I also love to listen. Being a man of great faith, I believe in people and carry compassion. I work specifically with couples who have discovered infidelity. Couples are traumatized when infidelity is discovered and the clinician needs to help the couple implement immediate steps to prevent further damage to the relationship. Counselor strategies for infidelity are much different than what a traditional counselor would utilize. When couples set up an appointment with me, they will get in quickly, and experience a specific treatment approach for infidelity. I also help couples with creating intimate communication, conflict skills, creating emotional and sexual intimacy, and increasing love and affection.

Our office is a warm, friendly, and professional place. Respect and personal diginity are two things I value, and try to make part of everything I do. In session, I usually have an eye on how to make positive and realistic change one day at a time. I often provide homework to challenge clients to be growing outside of our sessions. I have over 20 years experience working with people to assist them in overcoming substance use problems and ten plus years working with other mental health related problems. I have many years of experience working with individuals who struggle with mental health and addiction problems. I use a skill-based approach to treatment called dialectical behavioral therapy. This type of treatment focuses on learning how to live in the moment, manage interpersonal relationships effectively, handle life's challenges with grace and competence, and understand and deal with feelings in constructive ways. Using my training and diagnostic knowledge I will develop a comprehensive treatment plan that emphasizes relapse prevention and living a life worth living. I work with a team of other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, and counselors.

I help people get back on track -- and beyond -- after a challenge. In "earth language" I focus on clients and their potential, rather than problems. Eric has a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Otterbein University. He believes in the holistic approach to counseling individuals and couples. Eric values the integration of body, mind, and spirit in his counseling. He has taken a special interest in working with couples, men and teens. He began studying what makes relationships "work" 25+ years ago when he got married and he helps couples reconnect emotionally. He can also share how he learned to manage the anxiety he struggled with in his 20’s and 30’s. Accepting new clients .

Men often come to me because porn or sex addiction has caused serious problems in their lives. Many of the men I see initially contact me becaue their wives or partners are forcing them. I get it! I specialize in sexual health and sexual addiction (SA). I also work with work and money disorders. My treatment modality is a task-centered approach that results in specific life competencies.
