As an Indigenous Feminist, it is my philosophy that therapy and life are journeys, you determine where you want to go and how you get there.
As a Licensed Social Worker, I am dedicated to helping women become their best selves. My work as a therapist is rooted in Social Justice and Equity and approaching our work together from a holistic lens. I work collaboratively with my clients and understand that you are the expert of your own experiences. I believe that mental health is not isolated and all aspects of health contribute to our overall wellbeing.

I work primarily from an Adlerian framework and integrate aspects of contemporary psychodynamic, feminist, and mindfulness strategies.
I believe that each individual is both the text and the author, and work with clients to make meaning and find fulfillment in a world that is often unpredictable. I consider reflection and revision of earlier chapters, as well as intentional focus on the present moment to be key components in the process of taking ownership of one’s experience. Some of my areas of professional interests include identity (particularly surrounding issues of gender), guilt and shame, drug and alcohol use. I am also interested in healthy relationships, trauma and the social determinants of mental health.

My work is guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and multicultural, feminist, queer, and existential theories.
I strive to foster a safe, affirming and supportive therapeutic environment, and view therapy as a collaborative process in which the client is the expert. I am curious and observant, vulnerable and honest and I look forward to walking alongside you through your therapy journey. I encourage you to experiment with new behaviors that could help you embrace your thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them and begin to engage in your life through making choices that move you toward your values.

I draw heavily from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and Feminist Therapy; however, I also believe that the therapeutic relationship we develop will likely be the most healing aspect of counseling.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." --Maya Angelou. Suffering is often silent. We hold back our sadness, loneliness, resentment & shame. We think that pushing these feelings aside will allow us to live the life we desire. Yet, if you find yourself unable to move forward, I would be honored to sit alongside you as you process your story. Your pain. Your joy. Your sorrow, self-doubt and hatred. It is my goal that through my nonjudgmental ear you feel seen, heard, accepted & cared for. It is in this space that we can overcome the hardships of your past or future, & embrace the light that is within you.

I'm Logan (they/them) and I'm an East Asian non-binary person who has lived insight into what it’s like to not be white, cis, or straight in a state like Ohio. I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life, and I also come from a background of being raised in Christian/immigrant communities. I have experience working with the following: QTBIPOC communities, neurodivergent people, and people living with HIV. I’ve also got experience working specifically with trans clients who are exploring their transition process. I think it's crucial to provide empowering and identity-specific therapy spaces, especially for QTBIPOC right now.

I draw from an integrative approach to psychotherapy that weaves together cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, interpersonal, and pro-feminist empowerment approaches.
To me, at the core of psychotherapy, is creating a working alliance with the client in a safe, perfection-free, and respectful environment. I help individuals better understand their internal emotional worlds, learn more about why they do the things they do, help them to decide for themselves what changes they would like to make in their lives, and give them guidance and support in how to do so.

I am a client-centered therapist guided by a feminist and culturally humble perspective, focusing on individual strengths and goals.
It is most important to me to create a space where you can feel welcome to share your stressors, goals, and lived experience, and feel heard and affirmed. We will focus on your whole self - your environment, relationships, and history - and how these impact your perspective and sense of self. I enjoy working with adults managing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and relationship concerns. My goal is to invite others who have marginalized identities to feel both safe and challenged in my (virtual) office, and to build the skills and confidence they need to grow into the version of themselves they hope to be.

His approach to clinical work incorporates relational, feminist, and psychodynamic perspectives to support individuals in their process of personal growth and development.
Building a trusting, collaborative relationship is at the forefront of my work, though I’m aware this looks differently with each of my clients. I see the process of change as occurring in the context of relationships and through exploration of patterns that may be preventing one from living a fulfilling life. Through the discovery of these patterns, we can begin to understand how to live life more genuinely. I am a relational and psychodynamic therapist who incorporates various therapeutic approaches and interventions, including cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques.

Control and power are important. Mental illness, life stressors, change, relationship problems, are all things that make us feel like we are spiraling out of control. My clients are individuals that understand that regaining control and power in their own lives is the first essential step to achieving wellness. While my main focus is neurodivergency, I work with a wide variety of people who are ready to make the essential changes in their lives to be the happiest, healthiest version of themselves.

Anxious perfectionists go through perpetual guilt, shame, and self-punishment. No matter how hard you try, you're always falling short. It's exhausting, but you don't really know how to relax and probably don't sleep so well. Maybe you're first-generation, or the sibling who had to keep it together, or a grown-up "gifted and talented" kid. Anxious perfectionism may also show up as body tension, severe procrastination and indecision, and difficulty with boundaries and people-pleasing. Perfectionists don't do things perfectly—they feel like they ALWAYS have to do better. You may not even be sure if you can call yourself a good person.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
