Dominique Driessen Espana is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. She earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from South University. She began her career in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling and has continued to provide counseling services to those struggling with Addiction, Depression and Anxiety. Dominique has worked in a variety of settings that includes the Department of Corrections, College Counseling Centers, Managed Care Companies and Behavioral Health Hospitals. I am an independently licensed Profession Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in the State of Ohio and have been working in the field for over thirty years, helping individuals from a variety of backgrounds with substance use and mental health issues. I have experience working in residential treatment settings, outpatient community mental health programs, and in private practice. While I specialize in treating addictions to drugs or alcohol, gambling, or the internet, I have learned that these issues are often accompanied by depression, anxiety, panic, and grief.

I am Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with active licenses in Ohio, Hawai'i, & Texas. I am a trauma informed practitioner with 10 years of experience in Zen and Integral Psychotherapy, and training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I am Safe Zone trained and affirming of all gender identities & expressions. I am experienced in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and other communities of diverse relational norms. I am skilled in healing religious trauma and renewing spiritual connection.

Graduated with a MSW and certification in clinical mental health from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. I specialize in working with youth and adults who are experiencing mental health symptoms, PTSD, addiction, and/ or behavioral issues. I also work with couples and families to help them make changes that allow them to effectively communicate, work through conflicts in a skilled way and be able to be genuinely affectionate with each other.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. In addition, I am also certified in Clinical Social Work and Substance Misuse Disorder. I began her therapeutic career as a Mental Health Therapist in a male youth residential behavioral treatment facility, treating children of all ages. I have also worked in outpatient therapeutic settings, in-patient substance abuse treatment facilities, as well as many others.

People try to make sense of their world as they perceive it. This is why people struggle with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation and expression, addiction, etc. Overall, I believe people want to understand what makes them who they are. Through understanding their struggles and being able to choose different ways of thinking, acting, and feeling, people can learn to be the best version of themselves.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with 20 years of experience, and a background in Art Therapy. I specialize in counseling adults, and have experience treating mood disorders, gambling addiction, family conflict, relationships in transition, grief and loss, end of life issues, couples counseling and substance abuse.

For over fifteen years, I have counseled individuals impacted by trauma and addiction. I specialize in working with vulnerable populations who have complex trauma or post traumatic stress disorder with a focus on survivors of human trafficking. Over the years, I have also had the opportunity to address the unique needs of the first responder community. Much of my experience has been with individuals impacted by substance abuse or addiction, including those in recovery and their loved ones. I have been trained in a variety of interventions that allow clients to process their traumatic experiences effectively and efficiently.
