I have experience working with clients from all walks of life, including those with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and trauma from domestic violence or sexual violence.
Are you anxious, depressed, or struggling with trauma? You may be wondering if there is hope for you or if your life can ever change. Many counselors enter this field because we ourselves know what it is like to struggle, myself included. My experiences and training have led me to believe that we as people have an incredible capacity for change and healing. If you are ready to make changes in your life or simply need a listening ear, you have come to the right place. Life is hard, but we don't have to do it alone.

With seven years-experience in the field of Mental Health Counseling, Arin enjoys working with youth and families, women, couples, hoarders, and domestic violence survivors and offenders.
As we progress into the second year of being limited in traveling, gathering and socializing, we are finding ourselves less able to avoid our triggers, struggles, self image and overcome messages of being misunderstood and alone. For some, these last two years have caused more strain than strength within your relationship with children, family and or your partner. No matter the situation that brings a person to counseling the goal is to find a supportive, strength based, experienced, and compassionate clinician who will also challenge them to see that beyond the immediate storm there are blooming flowers.

I have a passion for supporting college student, individuals struggling with life transitions, career changes, relationship issues (including abuse and gaslighting), and navigating the difficulties of parenthood.
Are you feeling more overwhelmed, on edge, or more irritable than usual? Are you feeling overwhelmed by household chores and responsibilities? Are you struggling to adjust to a transition, or feeling unfulfilled or unappreciated and looking to make a change? I am here to offer a safe, non-judgmental space and to provide support. Taking the leap to start therapy for the first time, or finding a new provider, can be such a difficult and anxiety inducing process and I strive to make it as comfortable and stress free as possible.

I work with distress that shows up from various life experiences: childhood abuse or neglect, intimate partner violence, religious/spiritual trauma, chronic illness/chronic pain, loss of a loved one or relationship.
Accepting new telehealth clients in Ohio and Florida. You may be feeling "not yourself," uncertain, or stuck. It can be difficult to put this into words, or to have a notion of what you do next. We will work together to find a way that respects your right to tell your own story, and next steps that align with what you value. This will involve exploring where you've been, what you've learned (from society, family, institutions), your supports, and your resiliency.

Some of the specific areas I have experience in is working with people who are first responders or veterans, and people who have experienced violent trauma such as domestic abuse or sexual assault.
Sometimes life’s challenges can leave us feeling lost, hurt, angry, or confused. We all have unique experiences that shape who we are and sometimes we need a little support navigating those experiences and feelings. My style is to partner with you to identify and work through the struggles while building on the strengths that make you uniquely you. I enjoy working with individuals of many different races, religions, genders, and cultures. Counseling sessions with me are collaborative and laid back. My approach to each session is as unique and individualized as each person I serve.

I understand what it's like to feel like a victim of circumstance.
Control and power are important. Mental illness, life stressors, change, relationship problems, are all things that make us feel like we are spiraling out of control. My clients are individuals that understand that regaining control and power in their own lives is the first essential step to achieving wellness. While my main focus is neurodivergency, I work with a wide variety of people who are ready to make the essential changes in their lives to be the happiest, healthiest version of themselves.

Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

You know this sudden rush of emotions, when your heart is racing with memories of a time long gone but not forgotten? Maybe your palms are getting damp, and you feel your throat tightening - almost choking - as you remember painful memories of either childhood abuse, a painful breakup, or other shadows of the past – it's like being caught in a storm of past pain with a ton of emotions. Life is rough and now more than ever people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how they should manage their relationships, careers, and lives — however, you don’t have to walk through this on your own, I'll be right there with you.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
