I came onto the counseling scene as an empty nester looking for a way to share my experience and hope with others, and I have never felt more in tune with life than since I started seeing clients in 2014. My approach to counseling is warm, caring and positive. I use a combination of personal experience, professional models and education to help clients learn how to reframe how they see the world and themselves. I’m here to help you achieve the goals that we set together. You are not alone in your journey. I truly enjoy working with all adults for work stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive/compulsive disorder.

I offer individual therapy for adults and I specialize in treating depression, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, substance use, bipolar, and grief.
As a dyslexic and neurodivergent counselor, I understand the importance of a welcoming and safe space to be your most genuine self. For that reason I make it a priority to meet clients where they need to be met and develop that sense of safety. I view individuals as experts on themselves and believe in working collaboratively with clients to address each client’s unique needs in a way that is congruent with the lives they live. I view counseling through a skills based lens and enjoy helping clients learn the skills needed to address their mental health needs outside of session.

I treat adults age 18 and older with a range of issues and disorders like depression, bipolar disorder, and many types of anxiety disorders.
Do you spend time thinking about the past or constantly worried about the future? Do you seek to know yourself better? I help people change the habits and behaviors that are not serving them, so they can lead more peaceful and balanced lives here in the present moment. We will work together to understand how your past informs who you are now, but does not define it. I help clients identify their negative thinking patterns that have kept them stuck in their lives. Together we will generate new, rational alternatives that will help you gain perspective about the life you want to be living.

My focus is on a variety of life issues that impede the unique potential of the individual. These include substance abuse and dependency, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma as well as major life events that happen to us all. I works with people from all walks of life including children, couples, and adults. My approach to counseling is person centered / existential and is concerned primarily with a person’s goals, aspirations, and realization of meaning. I view life “problems” not as impediments to attaining goals but as opportunities.

I have experience treating ADHD, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, gender dysphoria, trauma, grief, and chronic illness.
I believe the most important question we can ask ourselves is, "What do I want?" I believe that everyone has an ability to move towards growth, healing, and fulfillment. I approach therapy from a perspective learning and believe that the more we learn about ourselves, the better able we are to make choices about how we want to move forward in life. I use an integrative framework to address each client’s individual needs. I work from a trauma informed lens and use interventions from existential, Attachment Theory, Gottman, ACT, IPT, and EFT.

My experience includes working with individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, life transitions, work/life balance, anger management, relationship struggles, and substance abuse.
I am passionate about helping individuals work towards personal growth and increased satisfaction with life. I believe in a collaborative approach, that meets clients where they are at, and using compassion, respect, and humor to develop a therapeutic relationship. Using a nonjudgmental approach to help individuals more clearly see the habits of the mind that create unnecessary suffering and offer strategies to reduce their negative effect. Utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness I help client's learn skills to increase understanding of thinking and behavior patterns, and learn coping strategies for emotion regulation, stress management, communication, problem solving, and relaxation.
