Counseling is an important, collaborative approach between a counselor and a client. I believe it is a counselor’s job to create a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment and to be validating towards the client in order for the client to grow. I believe that you must grow through what you go through in order to be the best possible version of yourself. My role is to help and encourage clients to meet their goals in order to live a fulfilling life. Counseling is an important dynamic to learn about and appreciate yourself.

I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2007. I work with children, adolescents and adults concerning a variety of issues. I assist clients with becoming empowered through education and skill building. I help clients focus on finding solutions through a variety of resources and skills. I use a combination of approaches including Mindfulness to help clients live more presently with awareness. Also other approaches I utilize help clients to learn to manage their emotions, and build better relationships to foster better outcomes in their lives.

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples for twenty-five years in different clinical settings such as mental health centers and private agencies. I have experience with treating a wide variety of disorders and I specialize in grief and trauma. My training includes cognitive behavior therapy and EMDR.

I work with all ages with a wide variety of presenting problems. I work with individuals, specializing in: struggles related to raising children, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, and stress of life changes (college, changing jobs, and relationships). Therapy is process that enables you to work through the effects of emotional difficulties, as well as your relationships with others. Working together I will help you achieve deeper self-awareness so you can understand and identify the underlying feelings.
