I am passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues and working from a trauma-informed lens to provide individualized care to everyone I work with. Compass was founded with the vision of empowering individuals who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, social, or other challenges to utilize their strengths to achieve their goals. These goals vary by individual; clients may present with goals to improve their academic or occupational functioning, foster healthier relationships, take control of powerful emotional responses, or (most commonly) to get answers about the sources of their struggles through psychological testing that we use to inform individualized treatment planning. My job is to provide answers to these questions and work with you to achieve success.

I am passionate about my work and helping individuals gain insight and understanding in their own challenges, strengths, limits, and abilities. As a proponent of holistic healing, I am working toward the use of yoga, yoga for trauma, meditation, and wellness coaching in my practice. My specialties include behavioral and mental health, substance use/abuse/dependence, LGBTQIA+ issues, and trauma with training in EMDR for difficult cases. From experience, I know, regardless of the difficulties in life, there is always a solution/change which can happen to help you find a positive to every situation -even if is not what you thought.

We are a group private practice with multiple therapists including EMDR and trauma informed clinicians. We also have a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management. We serve individuals, families, parents, couples, and groups. At Gestalt Columbus, we work alongside our clients to treat the whole person - mind and body. As a doctoral-level clinical psychologist with a deep commitment to children and their families, I specialize in helping parents navigate the complexities of parenting children who have experienced trauma or other challenges. As a master diagnostician with specialized training in children, trauma, and neuropsychology, I am committed to a thorough understanding of each child and family I work with, and to identifying what each child needs in order to be happy and well-adjusted. My approach is holistic, taking into consideration all areas of a child’s life and functioning.

Chelsea is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Development and Education from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and is working on the training and experience for Play Therapy. Chelsea has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, and community mental health.

I earned a master's degree in clinical counseling from Northwestern University and pursued counseling because my life experience put me in a unique position to help people overcome difficult circumstances in their lives. Since childhood, I've endured ceaseless adversity that's made it essential to have a safe place to explore my past, present and future. The gift of counseling was the beginning of my healing journey and the first time, in a long time, I'd felt hopeful. After over a decade in corporate America, it became clear that my passion is to provide those who are struggling access to the same opportunity for personal growth.
