Currently my focus has been treating adults who struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma, Stress, and Life Transitions.
Are you feeling anxious, depressed, and overwhelmed? Do you feel like you have no one to talk to? You're not alone and I'm here to help. Let's work on your struggles together. The clients I serve come from all different backgrounds, but what they have in common is that they need help recovering from grief or trauma, regulating their emotions, understanding why they feel stuck, or taking care of themselves instead of everyone else. They are the working parents, professional overachievers, caregivers, students, and helpers. They are ready for change, but do not know where to start.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral strategies but also rely on a Humanistic perspective, Dialectical Behavior Therapy influences, Internal Family Systems perspectives and have been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
It can be difficult to know if we are making the choices to live the life that we want for ourselves. Many people are questioning themselves and how they fit in the world. There's a point when we need to take inventory and review ourselves and our goals. Therapy can be a great tool to evaluate, recalculate and develop plans to reach your goals and the life that you want for yourself. I believe in meeting you where you are and starting your journey from there. I see my role as utilizing my experience and knowledge to help empower you as you make your way from where you are to where you want to be.

I often work with people who experience symptoms related to OCD, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.
Accepting new clients! My clients have many intersections. I often have clients that resonate with any of the following labels: queer, transgender, neurodivergent, rebels, polyamorous, and recovering people pleasers. My clients are ready to put the work in to make positive changes in their life. I love creating spaces for clients to utilize creativity in session, and to feel comfortable coming as they are to session- without having to hide parts of themselves and/or their life journey. My clients often struggle with finding people who truly take the time to understand them without judgement and dismissal.

Because of this (both lived and professional) experience, my work is strongly client-centered, trauma-informed, anti-racist, sex-positive, and fat-positive.
Hi! I’m Kaeden (he/him/his), and I am a licensed independent social worker in the states of Ohio (LISW) and Kentucky (CSW). I specialize in providing therapy to LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent people (ages 15+) as well as anyone looking for a safe and nonjudgemental therapeutic home. My approach is rooted in vulnerability, collaboration, transparency, and self-determination, and I am passionate about creating spaces where people with marginalized identities and experiences can feel seen and understood. If you have struggled in the past to find a provider who "gets" you, I might be the provider for you.

I have experience supporting clients with a range of life transition issues, ranging from career or relational changes to navigating experiences of trauma.
As a counselor, I'll strive to help you feel empowered, connected, meaningful, and rooted in your authentic self. I believe we grow through relationship with others, so our work together will be a partnership. Together, we'll explore your strengths, values, and hopes, to help you use your power to reach your goals. I know that feeling seen and heard by your therapist matters, so I'll work to create a space where you can feel safe to be authentic and open. I use a blend of relational-cultural theory, feminist theory, existential theory, and narrative therapy.

I use Cognitive Processing Therapy when treating PTSD/ Trauma.
Picking a therapist is a big deal. As a therapist, I like to be casual (aka: I might be in a sweatshirt, leggings with no shoes). In my office, we laugh a lot but are serious too. I love people and am grateful to be in my client’s lives. I can be straight forward, but I am always empathetic. For the past ten years, I have enjoyed being a therapist for both adolescents and adults. I focus on patient's struggling with generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship concerns, and PTSD. I would love to meet you and see if we click.

My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), art-based therapy, and mindfulness and meditation.
Welcome! I want to start by saying thank you for taking a moment to visit and read about me and what I do. It is not easy when choosing a therapist to talk to about life’s struggles. It can be scary and overwhelming, but I believe that it is an empowering and brave start. My name is Erin and as a therapist I offer safe space for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. I implement a strength-based and mindfulness approach with a strong belief that change and personal growth are possible, and that individuals are able to find their inner strength and work through life stressors and barriers to happiness.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
