Hello! If you are reading this, that probably means that you are interested in who I am and what I do! ( Thank you for your curiosity!) I am a licensed (OH) social worker. My “expertise” is in the treatment of anxiety (amongst other diagnoses). In exploring your concerns, my most frequently used theoretical approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy or CBT, which generally involves: (a) identifying and changing the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that create and support our anxious feelings and/or (b) using time during therapy(or suggesting things to try at home) to approach, rather than avoid, the things that create fear or anxiety.

There is a time to carry on, but there is a time to find a different way. You are tired of simply going through the motions of life. You find it hard to shake those feelings of worry and sadness. You feel overwhelmed by change and all the decisions in front of you. Your relationships feel hard and complicated. You provide so much for others at work and home that you don’t have anything left for yourself. I am a compassionate therapist who offers a warm and supportive space. I believe that personal growth is possible for everyone and that therapy is an effective strategy in that process.

Denise has been a consultant, school psychologist, and clinical counselor for over 30 years working as a licensed and board certified clinical counselor, school psychologist and psychotherapist. She has seen hundreds of children and young adults ages 4 to 22 and older, and specializes in testing and identifying people at-risk for autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, dyslexia, learning disabilities, and other disorders that result from profound social, emotional, behavioral, academic and learning problems. I believe that life’s truest purpose is a journey toward wholeness - toward our center. I find there are times life can feel overpowering. I like to help people move from a position of powerlessness to one of Hope. Empowering clients is important and enables change. In today’s society, we all come in different shape, sizes, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. We all have unique personalities, goals, and aspirations. There is no “one” right path to being the best you. I come from a multicultural home with two different cultural views and experiences. I was taught and believe that being the best version of our selves takes work. I want to aid you along that journey of self-discovery and becoming the best version of self. I graduated from Cleveland State university with a study in Psychology and Religion. I am completing my master’s degree in Marriage and family therapy at Capella University.

I will work collaboratively with you to identify and remove obstacles that currently hinder you from accessing your inner wisdom and ability to heal.Because no two people are exactly alike there is no one therapy method that can address the needs of every person. To honor your individuality I utilize an integrative approach with emphasis from client-centered, strength based, mindfulness based and somatic methods. I am a level 2 graduate of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I am currently pursuing my certification in Sensorimotor Psychotherpy.

I am a licensed professional counselor with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College. I graduated in 2022 and completed my internship with Crossroads Health, which is a community based mental health agency that strives to provide trauma-informed services, for all people, at any stage in life. The clients I served at Crossroads Health ranged from children to young adults. I provided a multitude of interventions for my clients based on the client’s needs, while remaining ethnically, and culturally sensitive.

Amanda has served a diverse range of clients, including those with mood disorders, those struggling with various hardships in life, and most recently, empowering caregivers with oppositional teens. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing grief and anxiety. Grief can be a complex and challenging process, and I provide a supportive and nurturing space for clients to explore their emotions, find meaning in their loss, and gradually heal. Anxiety is another area of expertise, and I assist individuals in understanding the underlying causes of their anxiety and developing practical tools to manage and reduce its impact on their daily lives. I provide a nonjudgmental and safe environment where clients can explore their fears, develop self-compassion, and cultivate resilience.

A major challenge for many individuals, couples, and families is creating and sustaining meaningful connections. Feeling connected to loved ones and friends, purposeful work, or creative endeavors is not easy. Sometimes people do not feel connected to themselves and need support in understanding their feelings and behaviors. Likewise, there are times when disconnecting from toxic relationships and activities is necessary and requires strategies and skills that are not easily acquired or encouraged by others.
