Most of my patients come to me feeling a significant level of distress. Some may have seen a mental health professional before and have some idea of what to expect. However, for many this may be the first time they have ever met with a mental health professional and they may feel apprehensive about the process. My goal in that initial session is to strike a balance between putting the person at ease while gathering important information about who they are and what their situation is. Most patients return to their second session feeling encouraged and a degree of hope based on that initial encounter.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing grief and anxiety. Grief can be a complex and challenging process, and I provide a supportive and nurturing space for clients to explore their emotions, find meaning in their loss, and gradually heal. Anxiety is another area of expertise, and I assist individuals in understanding the underlying causes of their anxiety and developing practical tools to manage and reduce its impact on their daily lives. I provide a nonjudgmental and safe environment where clients can explore their fears, develop self-compassion, and cultivate resilience.

I believe that people are curious and usually strive to make sense of their internal selves and the world around them. In this process we are often guided, influenced, and diverted by various factors. These factors are endless and include, but are not limited to; experiences, parents, society, friends, work, and morals. While these variables can help us to grow, they may also hinder progress, leading to stagnation and dysfunction. I assist others to gain awareness of these factors either within or outside the self.

I have a passion for working with older adults and anyone experiencing transition in their life. I believe that everyone can benefit from a safe space to bring their worries and concerns. Therapy can be a safe and fertile ground upon which one can learn new skills to live a happier and more satisfying life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University, and I am also certified in addiction counseling. I have experience providing individual and group counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults in community mental health and inpatient/outpatient settings, primarily focusing on working with adults, emerging adults, and adolescents.

The therapeutic relationship creates a unique space for patient and therapist to explore and uncover new possibilities for growth and change in areas that are of importance to the patient. I work collaboratively with patients to dislodge and free up deeply-embedded patterns of behavior and ways of relating to others that can keep us stuck and prevent us from moving forward, from achieving important goals, and from developing satisfying relationships that are nurturing and sustaining. Relationships are central to my work with patients, whether working individually, in couples therapy, or in a group.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who obtained my Master's of Arts in Counseling from John Carroll University in 2002. I have practiced in agency,forensic and private practice settings in Cleveland over the course of the past ten years. I offer therapy sessions for adolescents, adults, couples and families using Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to help clients make desired and meaningful changes in their lives by helping them identify and reach their therapeutic goals.

I am a licensed professional counselor with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College. I graduated in 2022 and completed my internship with Crossroads Health, which is a community based mental health agency that strives to provide trauma-informed services, for all people, at any stage in life. The clients I served at Crossroads Health ranged from children to young adults. I provided a multitude of interventions for my clients based on the client’s needs, while remaining ethnically, and culturally sensitive.

Clients come because they are in pain. They seek relief. I have 20 years of experience empowering clients to reach their goals. I partner with clients to get unstuck with tools and education.

I work with adults and teens, building skills and laying down new pathways for dealing with relationship struggles, inner conflict, loss, developmental crises, and identity concerns. I consult with parents of children of all ages, guiding them in helping their kids live less painful, more fulfilling lives. I help people who grapple with anger, sadness, anxiety, and feelings of emptiness or despair. I help my patients learn to be mindful and nonjudgmental in their awareness of thoughts, feelings, and the many motivations that lead to sometimes difficult behaviors. I also offer an emotional skills workshop for parents.

I have been where you are. Suffering is a right of passage. The idea of sharing your thoughts and feelings with a stranger may seem odd at first, but when the therapeutic relationship is working, fear and pain become manageable and sometimes even fall away. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field working with individuals of all age ranges. I enjoy working with individuals and couples and utilize a person-centered approach, where I meet each individual where they are at on their journey towards wellness. A major challenge for many individuals, couples, and families is creating and sustaining meaningful connections. Feeling connected to loved ones and friends, purposeful work, or creative endeavors is not easy. Sometimes people do not feel connected to themselves and need support in understanding their feelings and behaviors. Likewise, there are times when disconnecting from toxic relationships and activities is necessary and requires strategies and skills that are not easily acquired or encouraged by others. Stressful life transitions, traumatic events, addictive behaviors, and painful losses are concerns for many of my clients.

I am a licensed independent social worker with a PhD in psychology (academic degree). My humanistic approach engages clients in active collaboration on the content/direction of therapy. I strive to make the therapeutic space & time warm, welcoming, & safe, to provide clients the ability to focus on problems. I have extensive experience working within healthcare & hospice environments, & have a strong understanding of medical issues. I utilize strengths-based approaches in counseling individuals, couples, & families. Techniques are based on therapies including; EMDR, mindfulness, acceptance, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, narrative, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, & client-centered therapy. My dissertation focused on existential suffering at end of life.
