Lauren Kustec is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Lauren has experience working with individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds and of all ages. Lauren has provided treatment to individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and other mental health issues that impact daily living.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical counselor in Solon Ohio, I am an EMDR Certified therapist who loves to help my client with a range of mental health concerns .When I first started as a new therapist in a busy private practice, I quickly realized that most of my clients had suffered some form of trauma in their lives that was keeping them stuck. I trained to be a counselor, because I truly wanted to help people overcome their past. As I came across more and more clients struggling with their trauma symptoms I started to look around for ways to better prepare myself to help the population served.

I have a special interest in working with clients going through life transitions such as a significant loss, relationship distress, work stress/retirement, or unexpected changes that causes you to experience stress, anxiety or depression. Life transitions are challenging because they force you to let go of the familiar. Life transitions can be both negative and positive. You can learn to navigate change in a healthy way, allowing you to not only survive difficult situations, but to eventually thrive. I also enjoy working with clients exploring personal growth and the desire to live a life of purpose, happiness and connection.
