I am passionate about trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBQT concerns, personality disorders, and neurodivergence. An ideal client is an individual who has a growth mindset and explores their thoughts and feelings and how they impact their behavior. They may not understand how those thoughts derived from past experiences, but they are willing to open old wounds given the right tools. LaVesea is passionate about youth; youth who have difficulties with parents and/or family dynamics, anxiety and depression who look forward and are ready to navigate healing. LaVesea works with BIPOC clients who continue to navigate systemic oppression and are prepared to work through how it has effect relationships with others as well as how they view the world. She is also passionate about working with assisting BIPOC navigate and work through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self- harm.

My ideal client is the client that is willing to do the mental and emotional work that a therapeutic relationship requires, regardless of the issue they are bringing. These clients are desirous of change and growth and have some degree of motivation to make achieve them. They want to understand themselves better in order to develop and maintain healthy relationships with themselves and others. I am a licensed counselor in both Ohio and Missouri. I have a history working with adolescents, however, I currently work primarily with women of all ages. I enjoy, and have experience, supporting those who need support in a variety of areas. I am a Christian counselor and love exploring your stressors and assisting you to grow throughout your life struggles by adding in a Biblical perspective. If desired, I love to teach coping skills from a place where basic counseling skills intersect with Biblical principals.

My name is Amanda and as a Licensed Professional Counselor I provide a safe place for all individuals to exist without judgment. Healing is sometimes a complex process, and I believe all people have a right to heal safely. I currently offer individual therapy to address mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders and other issues related to behavioral health, stress, and grief. You find yourself in the middle of life asking yourself - "is this all there is?" You got the degrees and career, bought the house and picket fence, have the partner and maybe kids. It feels like you're doing all the right things, but you're not happy. It feels like a set up! You're anxious and angry and don't like the person you've become. You don't know what you like, want or need or how to ask for those things. You lost your voice, your sense of personal power and parts of your soul. Your sense of purpose and direction seems clouded. It hurts and you don't know how to make it better.

Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically.
