Life is filled with obstacles that have to be negotiated on a daily basis in order for us to move forward. I've helped adolescents, adults and couples do this by working through- and in developing coping strategies to use in addressing- many issues, including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, related mood disorders, addiction, loss, grief, severe mental illness, trauma, family conflict and uncertainty about a direction in life. Through 'straight'- honest- talk, deep reflection, exploration, identification and acknowledgement of the problem, I can help you develop effective ways to 'free up' the oftentimes fixed and toxic self-perceptions that may be holding you back.
By providing a comfortable and safe space to do so, I help people explore, honestly assess and clarify how they have been dealing, thus far, in addressing an issue, 'where' they would like to 'get to' in managing it and in developing new, healthier coping strategies to use in 'working through' the problem.
Additionally, being a parent, raising two children, locally, in Brooklyn, having taught public high school and college for over 12 years, formerly, I understand the demands and issues related to adolescents and academic achievement. Please contact me to set up a consultation.
