Common problems treated include, Depression; Anxiety ( OCD, Panic, School Avoidance, Generalized Anxiety Disorder); Academic Underachievement, Chronic Pain; Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity and Adjustment Disorders.
I like to start with a 2 session diagnostic evaluation to help identify the most appropriate evidence based treatment for the problem. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for Depression, CBT for OCD, Parent Behavior Management Training for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Habit Reversal Training for Skin Picking, Nail Biting, and Trichotillomania, and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics are some of the evidence based treatments that I commonly provide. My work with families focuses on providing skills to both the child/adolescent and parents.

I specialize in working with people with trauma, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The cornerstones of my approach are based upon genuineness and warmth. I am an EMDR therapist, and I completed my EMDRIA-approved EMDR training and became specialized in EMDR in 2019. For OCD, I use I-CBT and EMDR as treatment models. I am also trained in ERP. I offer assessments to determine potential OCD diagnosis.

I frequently work with folks on topics related to attachment, sexuality, anxiety, OCD, life transitions, and trauma.
Are you feeling stuck? Can’t break out of the cycle? Or maybe you recently experienced a loss, and you’d like help picking up the pieces to figure out what happened. Despite knowing that certain behaviors aren’t working anymore, it may be very difficult to change or interrupt painful, destructive patterns that seem to hijack our lives and relationships. This can leave folks feeling frustrated, helpless, hopeless, or just broken. Therapy can provide you with the experiences, tools, and insight to make meaningful changes in your life, in your relationships, and promote personal growth.

Some areas I am especially experienced in working with include past trauma, depression, attachment, ADHD, high-masking autism, OCD, and anxiety.
Have you been told you are "too sensitive" or "too much"? Are you finding it difficult to live in, enjoy, or focus on the present moment? Maybe images, thoughts, or feelings of the past keep appearing despite your best efforts. Perhaps worries of the future and its endless possibilities keep you from sleeping at night. Sometimes it may feel impossible to "just look at the bright side!". This may have led to you being unable to focus at work or school, spending less time with the people or hobbies you care about, or simply going through the motions of day-to-day life.

Openings for new clients! I'm queer and I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ and/or non-monogamous adults around trauma, family of origin issues, gender affirming care, and anxiety, including OCD. Before therapy, many of my clients think: Being in my head is stressful- there are things I'm afraid of talking about, or even thinking about. My past is still affecting me. Setting boundaries can feel really hard. Sometimes I have nightmares or flashbacks of things I've been through. If that sounds like you, I can help. Therapy can be a safe, non-judgmental space to make sense of your experiences and create meaningful change in your life.

I am a psychologist specializing in OCD, PANS/PANDAS, anxiety, FNSD/conversion disorder, hoarding, panic attacks, school avoidance, skin-picking, and hair-pulling. I work with individuals ages 8-26. I take an individualized approach to treatment with a foundation of evidence-based strategies. I work with individuals and families to help manage symptoms in their normal, day-to-day life. Teletherapy gives me the opportunity to practice skills with you or your child at home or other environments anxiety impacts the most. I often conduct "exposures," which teaches skills to challenge anxiety in real-life situations.

I approach therapy with compassion, humor and curiosity. I enjoy working with clients with obsessional fears and urges, and compulsive behaviors that get in the way of their lives. I'm certified by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is a cognitive behavioral therapy approach specific to treating OCD. I use ERP in tandem with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a transdiagnostic approach that is also effective in treating OCD and related disorders.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD.
Attention: Limited morning openings currently! - telehealth -When we live our lives in a state of constant fight-or-flight, we can go into survival mode. Worries, phobias, panic attacks, trauma, obsessive thoughts, avoidant behavior, and/or repetitive/compulsive behaviors can make us feel hopeless and helpless. We can find ourselves overthinking, overanalyzing, and feeling powerless. If you're feeling like life hasn't been moving in a positive direction, find yourself in a state of hypervigilence due to trauma and/or frozen by fears and uncertainty, you CAN find your way out - sometimes we just need some extra support to do so.

Some treatments I specialize in are: diagnosing and management of ADHD, exposure-response prevention (ERP) for OCD, CBT for anxiety and depression, and FBT for anorexia.
My passion is working with adolescents, families and adults who are looking to learn new skills to use in their lives. We'd be a good fit if you're looking for someone who teaches skills and strategies to use when encountering difficulties. Often people will encounter times where they struggle and don't have the skills to manage current stressors or problem. I’m here to offer you support and techniques that have shown to be effective in helping with these problems. Working with me involves learning more about what makes situations difficult (what's the specific problem) and applying new skills.

Through a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques, we will work together to overcome anxiety and OCD.
I specialize in delivering evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders. The science is clear on what therapy works best for these issues, yet often clients who need it most never access the right type of care. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment is considered the gold standard, and while many providers implement various CBT tools and techniques, they are not incorporated in a structured way as the research indicates. With over a decade of experience and thousands of hours delivering CBT treatments, I have cultivated a profound understanding on how to help folks with these issues.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
