I have also received training in EMDR and adult psychoanalysis and am in private practice in White Plains.
If you are feeling bad about yourself and aspects of your life, therapy can help improve your self-esteem, mood, and the quality of your life. I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with a wide range of issues. Some are confused and unhappy about their relationships or troubled by their performance at work or school. Others come into therapy because of a crisis in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or the loss of a loved one. I also see people who are having trouble adjusting to a life transition, like going away to college or becoming a parent. Still others are bothered by events from the past. Whatever the issue, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and/or angry are common.

This is a unique, science based approach, similar but simpler than EMDR and unleashes deep seated emotional and physical pain in a non-verbal way.
Feeling stuck and suffering is silence is painful. It feels like all of your energy is jammed inside and you are spinning in circles. You yearn for a release. A better way to unleash anxiety, bad memories and hurtful experiences. They are deep inside you and you don't know how to get them out. Shame, guilt, low self worth, anxiety, depression and hopelessness feels terrible. You know you need deep healing but have no idea how to get there. I can show you a clear path that is within reach. Are you ready to experience fast, powerful and long lasting relief?

As an EMDR therapist and perinatal mental health specialist, I help trauma survivors, moms, and overthinkers find the tools they need to live the life they deserve.
You’re tired of barely making it through each day. You’re stuck in a pattern of feeling burnt out and stressed all the time. You wish you could be the parent, partner, or friend you know you can be. You’re sick of the past keeping you stuck, and wish you could move forward. You know all the tools and why you should feel different than you do, but none of this has actually helped you feel better. You’ve tried so hard, but are missing what you need to make lasting change and finally enjoy life. You’re ready to get out of your head and learn to be present. You’re ready to thrive, not just survive.

I am a Level 5 Prolonged Grief Therapist and trainer, Certified in EMDR and in Death, Dying and Bereavement.
Although grief is a natural response to loss, for many people learning to adapt to life without their loved one is challenging. When the loss is sudden, traumatic, or the loss of a child, the challenges can be even greater. It can be helpful to work with a therapist who understands grief and can help navigate the emotions and thoughts that accompany the loss.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
