It's alright to not know exactly what our challenges are, that's where I can come in. An ideal client is anyone who is willing to call and seek some help with their difficulties. It always helps to come in with an open mind, confidence, and willingness to learn about the process and themselves!

I've worked with clients between the age of 5 to the later elder years (residential and outpatient). I previously specialized in working at-risk clients as well as clients struggling in relationships & sexualized behaviors. I have also worked collaboratively with physicians and doctors on comorbid issues as a bridge between biological and psychological health. Outside of private therapy I also work with in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which treats personal life issues and workplace issues, but also how they overlap and effect each other such as suicidality, drug use, couple's issues, parenting and communication.

In four plus decades of counseling a wide variety of people I have learned a great deal about the human condition and how the psychological, physical, familial, and social contexts in which we live can cause our lives to feel like an overwhelming fight for survival. As human beings we should be able to expect more. In this counseling practice you will have my full respect and caring as a base on which to build a therapeutic relationship in which you can remember and discover a more authentic, alive version of yourself.

Have you ever felt like you just couldn’t move forward? Like you’re being held down by the past and just can’t seem to move on? You want to take risks and get out into the world but are worried that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. When people ask what’s wrong, you can’t explain it, but you know that your struggles are real. There’s so much that you want to enjoy, but you’re held back because you don’t know if you can handle it. Sometimes nothing sounds better than to curl up into a ball and hide away. And yet you are expected to continue with your daily life as if there is nothing wrong. But there is hope.

I have been privileged to provide effective therapy to so many young people, families and adults over my 25+ years experience.
Whatever you are struggling with, it is my priority to help you cope, heal and develop skills to make you a healthier, stronger person. Life presents us with so many challenges- and opportunities for growth, all without a rulebook. New situations can be difficult. Old traumas and triggers are too. Maybe you think you've figured things out; then everything shifts. Parents and teens/tweens sometimes stop seeing things the same way. Adolescents and young adults can struggle, and act out their pain in self-destructive ways or lash out at people they love. If life seems like a source of stress and pain, therapy may be an answer.

I'm eager to offer my experience to adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families seeking support.
We all reach points in our lives where we experience increased stress and vulnerability. Regardless of our age, circumstances, or experience, we can feel hopeless and disconnected from the world. This can lead to a number of issues including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, impulsivity and poor decision making, unsafe behaviors, and even suicidal thinking and behavior. We all deserve to feel good about ourselves, be connected to the people who care about us, have healthy relationships, and be pursuing meaningful life goals. With the proper support we're all capable of doing so.
