Sometimes what we need is just another human to hear and see us as we are. Whether this is your first time reaching out for therapy or return to self-care, welcome! I’m here to support you on your journey toward understanding yourself and finding some balance in your life. If you’re dealing with anxiety/panic, depression, or the aftermath of past traumas, you’re not alone. I am particularly passionate about working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Let’s tackle the challenges you’re facing together— repeating patterns of interpersonal problems, stress, or a cycle of feelings and memories you just can't escape.

In addition, I specialize in working with adult and emerging adult males looking to process emotions, feelings, stress, and interpersonal relationships.
I believe successful counseling experiences begin through relationship. Prior to transitioning to the field of counseling I worked extensively within the criminal justice system. I thought that I might have an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals who have faced various challenges in life. I use individually tailored counseling tools such as brief psychodynamic exploration, mindfulness training, emotional freedom techniques (EFT), narrative, breathwork, goal setting, and solution focus to offer clients an opportunity to look deep within themselves for answers to life’s questions.

She has also worked in corporate America before the pandemic, an experience that has enriched her understanding of workplace stress and interpersonal dynamics.
Wendy's meditation practice of self-inquiry and the Buddhist principles of non-duality support her work and contribute to an accepting and non-judgmental space. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in self-inquiry, incorporating a strengths-based perspective, components of CBT, and a focus on the person-in-environment, understanding that our environments and communities affect our being and sense of wholeness. The therapeutic relationship is a collaborative process where clients have the freedom to guide the session and choose their intention for this journey.

When moving through life's difficulties, it can be hard to remember our innate goodness, let alone act from that place to meet the challenges of these complex times. Clients come to me with a variety of concerns - anxiety, relationship struggles, depression, and the real stress of simply being human in such uncertain times. This journey is about feeling better, and it's also about evolving and deepening our relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, and the whole world.

My unique approach utilizes traditional talk therapy but also includes alternative interventions such as adventure based therapies, mind-body interventions, stress innoculation, controlled exposure training and self esteem skills groups for adolescents.
I am accepting in person clients between the hours of 1pm-3pm Monday -Thursday. In addition, Fridays at 330pm there is open enrollment for Adventure-Based group for teens. I have several years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. My specialty is providing treatment of anger problems, PTSD, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. My approach is client centered. I draw from several different theoretical models, but my focus is on developing a therapeutic relationship that connects clients to their inner strength and hones their ability to adapt.

WHOL-ISTIC therapy has the power to uplift lives. Over the past 30 years, I've seen people transform more quickly, deeply, and with longer lasting results by combining talk therapy with mind-body approaches. Clients describe living with more ease, joy, peace and authenticity, and having a greater sense of agency in their lives. Learn to let go of limiting beliefs and behaviors, become more attuned to your body, and become more of who you want to be. I can help you reduce anxiety, stress and the impact of grief and trauma, as well as guide you through a life transition to find greater meaning, purpose and passion in your life.

My specialties include: anxiety and stress reduction, grief and loss across the life-span, adult trauma, gender, ethnic and racial identity concerns, challenges to the creative process, and women focused issues.
My practice offers a safe and relaxing space to begin the psychotherapeutic journey. As a college professor and clinician for many years I offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches that go beyond talk therapy: such as mindfulness practice, mind/body awareness skills, and other psycho-educational practices. I think that good clinical treatment resides in the therapeutic relationship informed by the latest research on the brain and the gut and an overall multi-modal approach to the person(s) sitting across from me.

Life is crazy right now. And it’s still important (maybe even more important) to take care of yourself. I’m here to help you do that. Even in the most stressful and unknown of circumstances. (hello, "post" pandemic-life, looking at YOU!). Let’s figure out how to build resilience and thrive… Give no fucks (at least about the things that don’t really matter). And find a healthy, happy balance in your life. Even when everything feels like it’s falling apart...  I help stressed & overwhelmed New Yorkers find space, clarity & calm in this crazy world. Anxiety & depression can make you feel stuck, unfulfilled, and overwhelmed.

In my 20 years of therapy practice, I have developed specializations in chronic stress, anxiety, panic attacks; creating meaningful relationships when you've experienced trauma; breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma; and "ditching the baggage" that keeps you weighted down and over-working or over-using substances to "just get through the day".
Are you feeling anxious, isolated, depressed after so long functioning in "pandemic mode"? Do you feel stuck, like your life is on repeat? Do you find yourself making the same choices that lead you to the same problems over and over? It's time to find out why you do this and how to break these patterns! I help people heal from painful life experiences and move towards a meaningful future filled with passion and purpose. When we work together, we'll explore your fears, anxieties, and traumas to uncover your inner negative voice that blocks you in life. We'll make a plan for you to take action and start living your best life.

I offer a safe space for all forms of self-expression for individuals and couples across the sexuality spectrum. Often when we are placed in environments with intense levels of stress, whether this is from relationship issues, anxiety/depression, addiction or other life situations, we hold pain and trauma deep in our bodies. When we are unable to process and release this from our bodies, we become stuck in patterns that are unhealthy. I also specialize in couples therapy, utilizing Gottman Method Techniques as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy, to provide a safe space to explore sexual, relational and life challenges.
