Do you feel like past hurts trigger current patterns in your life? Are you tired of carrying the weight of the past and want increased freedom in how you express yourself to those around you? As a clinician with years of training in post-trauma recovery and growth, I've guided many on their journey of self-discovery, transforming relationship with self/others and healing pain that hinders self-expression. My own journey allows me to understand the pain you are feeling and to offer you the support needed to feel better. Therapy at first glance might seem daunting but together we can create a space where you feel safe, free, and seen.

I am often described as a warm, calming, and collaborative therapist with a good sense of humor. I have an interest and experience in working with the BIPOC community and LGBTQ+ community and enthusiastically provide queer-affirming and trans-affirming care. I believe that a person-centered, strengths-based, and integrative approach creates a therapy experience to fit your needs. I also have extensive experience in trauma and/or substance abuse, along with anxiety, depression (both adults and children ages 9 and up), mood disorders, change of life stressors, and divorce and coparenting skills.

We are inherently social creatures that yearn for connectedness but sometimes it is difficult to connect with ourselves. Even when we desire to understand our own pain and struggles, that inner connection doesn't always come how or when we hoped. I believe that a connectedness to one's self and others can be achieved; and can come more naturally with practice. As your therapist, I will foster a warm and supportive therapeutic environment for us to work together. This is a place where you can gently peel back layers of awareness so that you can more easily reach your authentic self.

"Get busy living, or get busy dying." If you haven't seen Shawshank Redemption, maybe you should. Maybe it's just me, but reading all the profiles here seems a bit tedious since we are all essentially saying the same things. As an Army Veteran and a solution-focused pragmatist, I like to cut to the chase. The bottom line is that we've ALL survived something in our lives and fall into one of two basic categories; either those who just don't die or those who come back to living. So which category are you in?

You feel stuck and exhausted - like almost nothing is going right, and the stress just keeps on building. You try so hard to put these feelings and thoughts into words, then when you hear yourself speak, what comes out sounds all wrong. Inside, you feel like there's something missing - that you're disconnected from what truly matters and who you really are, but often find yourself running away as you’re scared of what you might find. This is not how you envisioned your life going, and deep down, you know something has to change...

Navigating through life’s ups and downs may seem impossible at times. Whether it be working through relationship issues, regulating our emotions, or coping with change, it can be helpful to have someone on your side. I hope to be that person for you. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in schools, residential care, and community-based counseling. I have helped individuals process through traumatic experiences, learn and practice healthier coping strategies, and implement positive communication and social skills all in order to improve their lives and relationships with others.

Welcome to my reimagined counseling practice--now, purely virtual! Do you feel like a square peg in a round hole? Are you out of touch with who you are and what you really want? Do you sometimes lie awake nights worrying, "Is this IT?" You know you need a change, but you're not sure how to take the first step. Somewhere along the way, you may have started doing what others thought was best for you instead of trusting your own gut. Perhaps you're unhappy because you and your job aren't a good fit. Maybe you feel overwhelmed with stress from all sides.

Holding the conviction that as human beings we develop across the lifespan—emotionally, mentally, spiritually and so on—where some may see illness or pathology, I might see a pivotal moment, an opportunity disguised as a crisis, or a stuck-point seeking a breakthrough. Consequently, my view is very holistic—maintaining that the body-mind-spirit is a complex, interwoven field of energy. If you believe that wellness, fulfillment and contentment is the result of finding balance in the emotional, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual domains of life, we would probably be a good fit to work together.

Welcome to a path of potential growth and healing. As a practicing LCSW, I hope to provide space and opportunities for my clients to engage in nonjudgmental awareness and skill-building while practicing empathy, compassion, and perspective-taking. Years spent in crisis intervention, with families in their homes, with youth in schools, and guiding psychedelic experiences have led me here to work with you. Whether your struggle surrounds a major life shift, generalized anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, chronic illness, or grief, I believe the power of a growth mindset puts us in a position where change is possible.

My approach is rooted in warmth, respect, and a deep regard for the strengths of the individual. I focus on helping people make the changes they want to see in their lives, starting from the inside and working outward into relationships, work, and life as a whole. I work from a trauma-informed consciousness, with an interest in neuroscience, supported by awareness of the effects of toxic stress on the body, mind, and emotions. In exploring the barriers to balance in your life, we can work together to build a holistic approach to rebalancing that is practical and effective.

We all reach points in our lives where we experience increased stress and vulnerability. Regardless of our age, circumstances, or experience, we can feel hopeless and disconnected from the world. This can lead to a number of issues including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, impulsivity and poor decision making, unsafe behaviors, and even suicidal thinking and behavior. We all deserve to feel good about ourselves, be connected to the people who care about us, have healthy relationships, and be pursuing meaningful life goals. With the proper support we're all capable of doing so.
