I am a gender affirming, trauma informed, hu manistic, experiential, attachment, and systemic therapist.
At times in life, we are gifted the opportunity to recognize among ourselves that there is room for growth and healing. When you get to this place, it would be an honor to be a stepping stone on your journey. We often don't realize, in the fast paced world, that we have multiple layers that have led us to where we are right now. If things aren't going as you would like, hoped, or dreamed of, lets change your direction towards how you want it to be right now, and moving forward. This starts with you. YOU have the power to change your direction at any given time. If you are feeling stuck, I want to help. I look forward to connecting.

Hi. Since 1978 I've help individuals and couples with communication, stress, depression, sex, affairs, pornography, PTSD. My comprehensive approach to counseling integrates the psychological and spiritual aspects of life in a way which not only treats painful symptoms but also heals the underlying emotional wounds. I believe that empathic listening without judging is the foundation of emotinal healing.Therapy is a process of gaining a wider perspective which reveals how past trauma are connected to present problems.Greater mindfulness reveals how old, problematic response patterns can be discarded and replaced by new and better ones.

I think that empathy is the most important ability that hu man beings have.
Life is hard. There are so many challenges that can get us off track. Most challenges can be diminished if not overcome by closely examining them and seeing them from a different vantage point. We can work together to pinpoint what makes meaning in your life and use what motivates you to overcome or better traverse whatever problem may be that you are experiencing. With good communication and a solid understanding and grasp of who you are and what you want out of life, I don't believe there is any issue in life that we cannot work together to mitigate or overcome. I have flexible hours that include days and nights.

My experience as a professional has been to "practice what I preach" thereby recognizing my own hu manity.
Over the past 35 years, I've had the privilege of working with individuals in a multitude of environments from residential facilities to outpatient community mental health clinics. My experience has taught me the importance of respecting one's hu manity through the use of a compassionate, nonjudgemental, and supportive approach. It is my firm belief that we all have the capacity for change. There is an inherent resilient nature within us that can be strengthened and utilized to achieve goals. My practice is directed toward empowering individuals to build on their strengths. I value "seeing the person and not the diagnosis".

My primary focus of therapeutic services is to provide a conducive, safe, and confidential format that will ensure personal growth. Enabling the individual to regain functional capabilities which is the ultimate goal. In order to regain functionality and growth individuals in therapeutic settings may have to discuss pleasant/unpleasant aspects of their lives and may experience uncomfortable feelings such as anxiety, fear, shame, guilt, hatred, anger, and frustration. However, through counseling, clients learn how to appreciate themselves, make better decisions and become more open about themselves and the world they live in.
